Veeam maintains leadership in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for enterprise backup solutions

Veeam continues to lead in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions for the eighth consecutive year, showcasing strong execution and innovation.

For the eighth consecutive year, Veeam Software has been acknowledged as a leader in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions. This continued recognition underscores Veeam’s robust execution and innovative strategies in data resilience.

A track record of sustained excellence

Veeam, renowned for its dedication to delivering reliable data protection solutions, has been named a Magic Quadrant Leader by Gartner. This year marks the fifth consecutive year the company has been rated highest for its ability to execute. According to Veeam, this recognition affirms the trust enterprises place in their products to ensure operational continuity and security. As per the latest figures from the International Data Corporation (IDC), Veeam leads globally in the Data Replication & Protection software sector as of the second half of 2023.

Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam, stated, “Today, the world runs on data, which means it must be available whenever and wherever it’s needed no matter what happens. That’s Data Resilience.” He emphasised that Veeam’s robust suite of services provides over 550,000 organisations in more than 150 countries with peace of mind, enabling them to manage data seamlessly and secure it against potential threats.

Innovations and advancements

In the past year, Veeam has introduced over 30 product enhancements, further cementing its position in the market. A significant development is the Veeam Data Platform, which integrates data backup, recovery, and security into a unified solution. This platform allows businesses to back up and use their data flexibly, avoiding platform or cloud lock-in, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while minimising risk.

Moreover, the Veeam Cyber Secure Program offers comprehensive support to enterprises before, during, and after cyber-attacks. This program includes a partnership with Veeam to implement solutions to the highest security standards and a US$5 million Ransomware Recovery Warranty. It also features access to a global team of cyber threat experts and innovative technology from the newly acquired Coveware by Veeam. This service promises world-class incident response assistance with a 15-minute Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Another important release, Veeam Data Cloud, extends Veeam’s acclaimed data protection capabilities to cloud services, specifically designed for Microsoft 365 and Azure. This service simplifies backup processes while maintaining direct control over data. Veeam has also launched Veeam Data Cloud Vault, a cloud-based storage service that offers secure, immutable, and encrypted backup storage solutions, further enhancing data security.

The Gartner Magic Quadrant report is a result of thorough, fact-based research in specific markets, providing insights into the competitive positioning of leading providers in sectors with significant growth and clear differentiation. The latest report evaluates 13 vendors in the enterprise data backup and recovery solutions market, highlighting Veeam’s leadership and innovative approach in this field.
