Veeam announces new alliance with Hitachi

Veeam and Hitachi's new alliance enhances data protection and ransomware recovery in Japan, providing local support and simplified cloud migration solutions.

Veeam Software, the leader in Data Protection and Ransomware Recovery, recently announced a strategic alliance with Hitachi Ltd. (“Hitachi”). Through the alliance, the first of its kind in Japan, Hitachi will offer and support Veeam Data Platform directly to its customers, with Veeam providing comprehensive back-end resources to support Hitachi.

Under this alliance, customers in Japan will have a single, trusted partner they can approach for comprehensive cloud, hardware, software and middleware support, including across applications, operating systems, cloud vendors, VMware, and other systems. Customers will also have the added advantage of immediate support in their local language, eliminating the need to reach out across multiple channels.

“From listening to our customers, we understand their preference is to work with one-stop support from a reliable vender. This strategic alliance with Hitachi allows them to do just that while gaining all the benefits of Veeam’s Data Protection and Ransomware Recovery capabilities through our Veeam Data Platform.” said Masakiyo Furudate, Vice President, Japan, Veeam.

“In the past, Hitachi has collaborated with Veeam to provide solutions that support the migration of mission-critical systems to the cloud, as well as the solution linking with Hitachi storage’s high-speed copy functions that enable large-scale data backup while maintaining business. Our alliance with Veeam means that we are now able to provide Veeam’s best-in-class solutions and quality support that match the needs of customers who want to use Veeam for data protection and ransomware protection. By working closely with Veeam, we are also able to provide total value to meet the changing needs of customers as their business grows.” said Takaichi Ishida, President of Digital Platform Business Division, Hitachi, Ltd.
