Steelseries unveils Arctis GameBuds: Console-friendly wireless earbuds for PS5 and Xbox gamers

Steelseries’ new Arctis GameBuds offer console compatibility, immersive audio, and durability for PlayStation and Xbox gamers. Now available in Singapore.

Steelseries has launched its first true wireless earbuds, the Arctis GameBuds, now available in Singapore. With versions tailored for and Xbox consoles, these earbuds are designed for serious gamers and offer seamless connectivity with systems, smartphones, and other devices.

Designed for console compatibility

The Arctis GameBuds stand out for their compatibility with major gaming consoles. Steelseries offers two separate versions: one for PlayStation and one for Xbox. The PlayStation model is compatible with the PS5, PS4, and PS4 Pro, while the Xbox version works with the Xbox Series X, Series S, and Xbox One. A unique feature of the Xbox version is its ability to connect with PlayStation consoles, giving it broader flexibility for those who own multiple gaming systems.

The GameBuds connect to consoles via a specialised USB-C dongle that acts as a 2.4GHz wireless transmitter, ensuring low latency and high-quality sound during gameplay. Steelseries includes a USB-C to USB-A dongle for additional compatibility with a broader range of devices. Beyond console gaming, the GameBuds support Bluetooth 5.3, allowing users to pair them with Nintendo Switch, Android devices, iPhones, tablets, PCs, and Macs, making these earbuds a versatile option both on and off the gaming console.

Audio tuned for gaming precision

One of the standout features of the Arctis GameBuds is their sound quality, which is fine-tuned explicitly for gaming. With over 100 game-specific audio presets, the earbuds enhance various sounds within games to give players a competitive edge. For example, some presets amplify the sound of footsteps, which can be vital in first-person shooter (FPS) games, helping players detect opponents more effectively. This sound customisation improves in-game awareness and immerses users in the gaming experience.

The GameBuds come equipped with active noise cancellation (ANC), which blocks background noise so players can focus entirely on the game. Additionally, a transparency mode allows outside sounds to filter through, giving users the flexibility to stay aware of their surroundings when needed. Built for durability, the earbuds boast an IP55 rating, meaning they are resistant to dust and water splashes, which adds reassurance for those using them on the go or during intense sessions.

Battery life, charging, and availability

Battery life is another impressive aspect of the Arctis GameBuds. Each charge provides up to 10 hours of continuous use, with the charging case extending total playtime to 40 hours (without ANC). The case can be charged through USB-C or wirelessly via Qi-compatible chargers, catering to various charging preferences and ensuring the earbuds stay powered up throughout the day.

The Arctis GameBuds are now available for S$299 through online platforms like Lazada, Shopee, and the official Steelseries online store. While the PlayStation version comes in both black and white, the Xbox version is only available in black, providing a sleek option for fans of either console.

Steelseries aims to give gamers a flexible, console-friendly audio solution with the Arctis GameBuds. These devices combine high-quality sound, durable design, and versatile compatibility for game players across multiple platforms.
