Sony unveils WF-C710N earbuds with improved battery life and noise cancellation

Sony announces the WF-C710N earbuds, which offer better battery life and noise cancellation, and new colours for the WH-CH720N and WH-CH520 headphones.

Japanese tech giant Sony has announced the launch of its latest true wireless earbuds, the WF-C710N. The company has also introduced new colour options for its popular WH-CH720N and WH-CH520 headphones, bringing more variety to its audio lineup.

Sony WF-C710N: Enhanced battery life and noise cancellation

Building on the success of the WF-C700N released last year, Sony’s new WF-C710N earbuds offer significant upgrades. These are among the brand’s most affordable earbuds featuring active noise cancellation (ANC), designed to improve the listening experience.

The earbuds retain the same 5mm dynamic driver as their predecessor. They also support Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) audio and have an IPX4 water resistance rating, making them suitable for workouts and daily commutes.

One of the biggest improvements is the battery life. Compared to the previous model, the WF-C710N can last 8.5 hours on a single charge with ANC turned on. Turning ANC off extends the battery life to 10 hours. The charging case provides an additional 2.5 full charges, offering up to 30 hours of use with ANC enabled.

Sony has also enhanced noise cancellation performance by introducing a dual microphone system. Unlike the WF-C700N, which relied on a single microphone, the new model features feedforward and feedback microphones for more effective noise reduction. The Ambient Sound Mode now includes over 20 adjustable levels, which can be customised through the Sony Sound Connect App.

The WF-C710N runs on Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring a stable connection and improved efficiency. It supports SBC and AAC audio codecs and features multipoint connectivity, allowing users to connect to two devices simultaneously.

The Sony WF-C710N will be available in Singapore from April 17 to April 30, 2025, at a promotional price of USS$169. After this period, the standard retail price will be USS$199. The earbuds will be available in four colours: White, Pink, Glass Blue, and Black. They will be sold through Sony’s official stores on Lazada and Shopee.

New colours for WH-CH720N and WH-CH520 headphones

Alongside the launch of the WF-C710N, Sony is also introducing fresh colour options for its WH-CH720N and WH-CH520 headphones. These models, previously available in standard black and silver, will now come in pastel pink. Additionally, the WH-CH520 will also be offered in a soft yellow shade.

These new colour variants will be available in Singapore starting in April 2025. Pricing details for the latest versions have not yet been confirmed, but this article will be updated once more information is available.
