SITEX 2019 combines the best elements of gaming and technology into a whole new experience for the annual consumer lifestyle IT exhibition. Happening from 28 November to 1 December at the Singapore Expo, Halls 5 and 6, this yearโ€™s edition is primed to pique the interest of gamers, gaming and technology enthusiasts, as well as digital artists.

The Gaming Zone offers free-to-play gaming experiences ranging from mobile and consoles to arcade classics and eSports tournaments. Attendees can also look forward to participate in digital arts workshops conducted by the East Asia Institute of Management (EASB).

A myriad of gaming experiences

Theย revamped Gaming Zoneย focuses on the millennials, creating an immersive family experience and stepping into the world of mixed reality that invokes both thrill and excitement. This yearโ€™s inclusive Gaming Zone will allow attendees from all walks of life to experience the different types of games that will be on showcase during the four-day event.

FIFA 20

The world leading gaming brand, MSI, will also be involved at the 2019 edition of SITEX, where attendees can participate in the MSI Gaming Triathlon Challenge 2019 at the MSI Carnival Zone, to win some attractive prizes. The challenge is suitable for both the young and the old, players will face off in three separate 1v1 game challenges randomly drafted out of a pool of 10 games which include games such as Tetris and Puzzle Bobble and modern day favourites like Street Fighter V and the newly released FIFA 20.

Mobile gaming fanatics can also take part in the PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) Mobile exclusive PUBGM X Vivo Premiums that will only be available at SITEX and battle it out with a game of PUBG Mobile to experience vivo’s gaming smartphones.

Other arcarde classics like Columns, Bomberman, Mario Kart, Metal Slug X, and old school โ€œversusโ€ fighting games such as Super Street Fighter II will also be made available at the event.

Traditionalists will be able to enjoy consoles from yesteryear including SEGA Saturn, Nintendo Entertainment System, Neo Geo, and the original PlayStation, among others.

This year’s edition of SITEX looks to push the boundaries even further by

looking beyond the world of technology to gather together a community of “offline” gamers. Local game store, Gallant Games, will be bringing in different card and board games including popular table top role-playing game, Dungeons & Dragons, as well as miniature wargames like Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar.

Professional gamers and gaming enthusiasts can look forward to upgrade their gaming hardwares from custom gaming computer company, Aftershock PC, and local gaming chair company, Secretlab.

Dell will also be introducing their latest Alienware Aurora Desktop R9 that was was released at Gamescom 2019. The Alienware Aurora R9 adopts the “Legend” design language, first used in the Alienware Area-51m, then the m15 and m17 laptops. Paired with the powerful hardware and yet another brilliant design from Alienware, the company is living up to its status as a high-end, botique system builder. The Alienware Aurora Desktop R9 features an unmatched thermal design that is equipped with the innovative PSU swing-arm, allowing airflow through the side vent, thereby efficiently reducing CPU temperatures to ensure a stable performance and higher overclockingโ€”resulting in higher frames per second while gaming. When it comes to connectivity, the Alienware Aurora Desktop R9 features a GbE port (enabled by the Killer E2500 controller), a Wi-Fi 5 or Wi-Fi 6 adapter (Qualcommโ€™s DW1810/DW1820 or Rivetโ€™s Killer AX1650), USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A and Type-C connectors, and 7.1-channel audio. Digital art attack

Other than just conducting digital arts workshops, EASB and SITEX have jointly presented a Digital Arts and Technology Battle Arena competition, aimed to attract top talent from Singapore and around the region. 

EASB and Lionheart Studio are also offering over S$380,000 worth of study grants and scholarships at the School of Design, Media & Arts to 30 finalists across three different categories: Game Design & Development, Digital Game Prototype; Digital Art Champion and the Ultimate Speed Painter Contest.
