SHARP launches AQUOS R9 Pro, redefining mobile photography in Singapore

SHARP unveils AQUOS R9 Pro in Singapore with pro-grade cameras, Dolby Vision, and sleek design, available from 6 December 2024.

SHARP has unveiled the AQUOS R9 Pro, its latest flagship smartphone, set to launch in Singapore on 6 December 2024. Designed to elevate mobile photography, the AQUOS R9 Pro features a professional-grade triple-camera system, Dolby Vision support, and a dedicated shutter button, making it a standout choice for creative and professional users.

โ€œWith the AQUOS R9 Pro, SHARP delivers a smartphone that goes beyond typical mobile photography, offering a tool that empowers users to capture, create, and connect with unparalleled quality,โ€ said Woo Keat Chew, Managing Director of Sharp Singapore. โ€œWe are excited to provide users with a device that meets both their professional and personal needs, with the reliability and craftsmanship they expect from SHARP.โ€

Professional photography and immersive visuals

The AQUOS R9 Pro is equipped with a sophisticated triple-camera system, featuring standard, wide-angle, and telephoto lenses, each with 50.3MP sensors. The main camera’s large 1/0.98-inch sensor excels in low-light conditions, ensuring sharp, bright images even in dim settings. The telephoto lens supports 2.8x optical zoom and up to 20x hybrid zoom for capturing distant subjects with clarity.

Adding to its professional photography credentials is a dedicated shutter button, allowing precise control and a tactile, camera-like shooting experience. The device also supports Dolby Vision, providing lifelike colours and contrast for professional-quality videos.

The visual experience is further enhanced by a 6.7-inch QHD+ Pro IGZO OLED display. This screen offers vibrant colours, high brightness, and a refresh rate of up to 240Hz, ensuring smooth playback and vivid content review. Dual stereo speakers deliver powerful, immersive audio, complementing the stunning visuals and making the AQUOS R9 Pro an ideal multimedia device.

High performance and robust design

Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, the AQUOS R9 Pro ensures fast, reliable performance, even during demanding tasks. The device includes 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage, offering ample space for high-resolution photos, videos, and other large files. A 5,000mAh battery with wireless charging support provides extended usage, catering to active lifestyles.

To maintain peak performance, the AQUOS R9 Pro features advanced heat dissipation technology. An internal vapour chamber and heat diffusion through the camera ring help keep the device cool during intensive activities such as gaming and video recording.

Built to last, the smartphone carries IPX5/IPX8/IP6X certifications for water and dust resistance. These durability features ensure that the AQUOS R9 Pro is well-suited for everyday use, no matter the environment.

Availability and launch promotion

The AQUOS R9 Pro will be available from 6 December 2024 through the SHARP CocoroLife e-store, LazMall, Mall, and selected retailers including Best Denki, Challenger, Courts, and Gain City.

The smartphone is priced at S$1,499, with a promotional offer of S$1,319. Buyers will also receive Sharp earbuds worth S$149 as a free gift via redemption. Additionally, there’s a purchase-with-purchase offer: 50% off a Sharp Shoulder Strap Casing at S$69.90 (usual price S$139.80).

The AQUOS R9 Pro is ideal for those who value creativity, sophistication, and cutting-edge technology, blending professional-grade features with durability and style.
