Samsung’s latest Galaxy S24 series: Titanium build, flat screens, and AI advancements

Discover Samsung's Galaxy S24 series: Featuring a titanium build, flat screens, AI advancements, and improved camera technology, set to revolutionise smartphone experience.

Samsung’s flagship Galaxy S24 series has faced another leak, revealing exciting details about the upcoming models. The focus is on the S24 and S24 Ultra, which are assumed to be the names of these new devices.

Key design and build updates

Windows Report recently shared official Samsung images showcasing the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This model introduces a striking flat-screen design, a departure from the previous curved screens. This change mirrors the design shift seen in the earlier S23 model. A new grey finish is also noticeable, adding to the aesthetic appeal.

Advanced AI features and improved camera technology

Samsung is set to introduce cutting-edge generative AI software on-device in the S24 line. Based on the company’s Gauss model, this technology will enable real-time translation in messaging apps across multiple languages. Moreover, Samsung showcased an AI-powered camera feature called “Zoom Anyplace”, anticipated to be a part of these new models.

Processor and hardware specifications

Android Authority revealed that the FCC published details about the processors and modems in the S24 series. The documents suggest the presence of Qualcomm modems with Smart Transit functionality. All S24 models in the US are expected to feature the new AI-capable Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chips. However, the standard S24 might still use Samsung’s Exynos processors in international versions.

S24 Ultra: A leap in technology

The S24 Ultra is set to receive significant upgrades. These include a titanium frame, a 50MP 5x telephoto camera, enhanced vapour chamber cooling, and Wi-Fi 7 support. Despite these advancements, its core features, like a 6.8-inch Quad-HD screen, 120Hz refresh rate, storage options, 12GB RAM, and a 5,000mAh battery, remain similar to the S23 Ultra.

Design continuity in standard models

The standard Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus models largely retain the design of their S23 counterparts. However, they offer new colour finishes, including black onyx, grey marble, cobalt violet, and amber yellow. The S24 Plus will feature a 6.7-inch Quad-HD screen, a 4,900mAh battery, and 12 GB of RAM. The regular S24 will see minor improvements in screen size and battery capacity.

Anticipation for official release

Samsung hasn’t officially announced the successors of its Galaxy S23 line. However, these new models could be unveiled early next year at a Samsung Unpacked event if past trends continue.
