New smart glasses with ChatGPT-4o and a camera set to challenge Meta Ray-Bans

Solos introduces AirGo Vision smart glasses with ChatGPT-4o and a camera, challenging Meta Ray-Bans with advanced AI and swappable frames.

If you’re looking for glasses with hands-free video recording and an AI voice assistant, your options are limited, with Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses leading the market. However, Solos is set to introduce a new competitor, promising a camera-equipped version of its smart glasses later this year, featuring OpenAI’s new GPT-4o AI model. This advanced model will enable the camera to recognise objects and answer questions about what you see.

Solos AirGo Vision features

The upcoming Solos AirGo Vision glasses will include a swappable frame system, a feature similar to Solos’ other models. This unique feature allows you to adapt the glasses to different social situations or personal preferences. You can remove the camera when it’s not socially acceptable to have one or switch to a different frame for a different look or sunshades. Additional frames will be priced between US$89 and US$129, offering you a range of options to suit your style and needs.

The Vision will also feature LED notification alerts to alert you to incoming calls or emails. According to the company, these glasses can integrate with Google Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude AI models. Like the Meta Ray-Bans, they will answer questions through audio, as they don’t have a display other than the LEDs.

Pricing and availability

While there is no specific release date or price for the AirGo Vision glasses, they are expected to be priced higher than US$249.99. This estimate is based on the cost of Solos’ camera-less smart glasses, which will be available this July. For comparison, the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses currently start at US$299.

With these new features, Solos is set to redefine the smart glasses market. The inclusion of the GPT-4o AI model and the ability to swap frames for different occasions make the AirGo Vision a high-tech and versatile alternative to the existing options. This product is not just a pair of glasses but a cutting-edge technology that will keep you ahead of the curve. Stay tuned for more updates as Solos prepares to launch these innovative glasses.
