NETGEAR unveils first WiFi 7 router in Singapore, delivering high-speed connectivity

NETGEAR launches its first WiFi 7 router in Singapore, offering speeds up to 19Gbps and coverage for up to 200 devices with the Nighthawk RS700.

NETGEAR, a global leader in networking solutions, has launched its first WiFi 7 router in Singapore. The Nighthawk RS700 router, part of its well-known Nighthawk range, promises next-level connectivity with speeds of up to 19Gbps. Developed by NETGEAR’s team with over 25 years of expertise in WiFi technology, the RS700 router is aimed at homes and businesses requiring ultra-fast internet connections.

The new router is designed to meet the rising demands of modern homes that rely on numerous connected devices. As more households adopt faster multi-gig internet services and demand increases from high-definition video streaming, online gaming, and collaborative work, WiFi 7 technology offers faster speeds, lower latency, and greater capacity.

Entering the WiFi 7 era

WiFi 7 builds upon the foundation laid by WiFi 6E, which introduced the 6GHz band for faster devices. The Nighthawk RS700 takes this further, delivering exceptional performance using Broadcom’s BCM6726/3 WiFi 7 system on a chip (SOC). This chip enables the RS700 to achieve up to 19Gbps of speed, making it twice as fast as previous WiFi generations.

This tri-band router is ideal for handling modern internet requirements. It supports multiple activities such as 8K streaming, highly interactive gaming, and AR/VR experiences, all with minimal latency. With a 10Gb internet port and a combination of one 10Gb and four 1Gb LAN ports, it also supports present and future internet speeds.

David Henry, NETGEAR’s President & GM of Connected Home Products and Services, highlighted the innovation, saying, “With the launch of our Nighthawk RS700 Router, we’re setting the pace for adoption of the next generation WiFi. The RS700 is purposefully constructed for the highest possible performance.”

In addition to its speed, the RS700 router has a year’s subscription to NETGEAR Armor Powered by Bitdefender. This security feature protects all connected devices, defends against external threats, and secures various devices like baby monitors and security cameras.

Sleek design with solid performance

The Nighthawk RS700 router also brings a new aesthetic to NETGEAR’s product line. It features a slim, modern design with high-performance antennas with 360-degree coverage. These antennas are optimised to support up to 200 connected devices simultaneously, ensuring smooth connections across even large homes.

Designed to cover up to 3,500 square feet, the RS700 is ideal for homes of all sizes, including multi-storey houses. Its compact form ensures it can fit easily into any space, whether on a shelf or tabletop, while maintaining strong signal strength throughout the property.

Key features of the RS700 include:

  • 320MHz high-capacity channels – Delivers 2.4 times faster speeds to connected devices.
  • Multi-Link Operation – Enhances reliability by using multiple WiFi bands.
  • Lower latency – Improves gaming and online experiences.
  • Support for 200 devices – Ideal for data-intensive activities, such as 4K/8K streaming and video conferencing.
  • 10GbE internet port – Ready for fibre or cable internet plans of up to 10Gbps.
  • Multiple wired connections – Includes one 10Gbps and four 1Gbps LAN ports for faster wired connections.

Availability and pricing

The NETGEAR Nighthawk RS700 WiFi 7 router is available now in Singapore through NETGEAR’s website for S$1,299. This powerful router is set to offer future-proof connectivity for homes and businesses looking for faster and more reliable internet.
