Google is now helping businesses create promotional videos for YouTube with a free beta tool. Now, YouTube Video Builder is available to any business that may be unable to create videos from scratch.

This free tool allows businesses to create six or fifteen-second videos using a variety of layout tools available. It is built to animate static assets, which means that actual footage is not necessary.

Businesses use their own texts, images, and logos, which are then generated into a short video. During the process of creating the video, you can customize fonts and colors, or even add music from Googleโ€™s royalty-free music library.

Once the video is created and uploaded, you can use it however you want. You can use Video Builder Content in ads, or to display on your website, or share on social media.

Google insists that the tool is for lightweight and supplemental videos only. The tool is not capable of creating and editing videos of significant lengths. If you want that, you will have to use your own software or at least turn to YouTube’s creator studio.

“For smaller businesses and those with less creative experience, it can provide an efficient, low-resource way to create videos, perhaps even for the first time,” Google stated.

How to use the Video Builder Tool

After you sign up for the beta, you will get an email, which will grant you access to the tool. Once you are in, here is how to get started.

  • Choose a layout that best represents your goal.
  • Add your logo and the color of your brand.
  • Add text and upload images.
  • Choose your preferred font for your text.
  • Pick a track that will set the tone of your video.
  • If you are satisfied with what you see, upload the video to your channel.

The tool is user-friendly, and it requires minimum technical expertise, and anyone can use it. The video that you will create will be saved as a template, and you can revisit whenever you want, which means that if you want to create similar videos, but with minor differences, you can easily do so.

There is an optional step whereby you can immediately create a Google Ads or YouTube campaign using the video that you generated. However, that may not be necessary as you can use the tool to upload videos without needing to pay for advertising.
