Logitech introduces MeetUp 2: An AI-powered conference camera

Logitech introduces MeetUp 2, an AI-powered USB conference camera for small meeting rooms, available in August 2024 for US$899.

Logitech has announced the release of the MeetUp 2, an advanced AI-powered USB conference camera designed for huddles and small meeting rooms. This new camera builds on the success of the original Logitech MeetUp, which has sold over one million units worldwide.

Key features and improvements

The original MeetUp was renowned for its support of multiple video resolutions, ranging from HD (720p) to Ultra HD (4K, or 2160p). It offered a 120° field of view (FOV) without fisheye lens distortion, motorised pan/tilt functionality, and three beam-forming omnidirectional microphones with built-in noise and echo cancellation.

The MeetUp 2 retains the familiar design of its predecessor, featuring a central lens flanked by speakers on each side. However, it boasts significant improvements, starting with a 4K camera that maintains a 120-degree FOV and offers up to 4X zoom. The new camera supports digital pan and tilt and integrates RightSight 2, Logitech’s enhanced AI framing solution.

RightSight 2 surpasses its predecessor by providing three distinct framing options: Grid View, which frames each meeting participant; Speaker View, which focuses on the active speaker; and Group View, which captures the entire group. Additionally, the Camera Zone feature allows you to define specific areas for the camera to actively detect and frame meeting participants, eliminating distractions from individuals outside designated meeting spaces.

Enhanced audio capabilities

The MeetUp 2 doubles the microphone count of the original MeetUp, featuring six microphones for improved beamforming and voice pickup. This upgrade ensures better accuracy in capturing speakers’ voices while isolating ambient noises. RightSound 2, another AI-driven technology, uses algorithms to balance voices, filter out unwanted noise, and reduce reverberation in echo-prone rooms.

MeetUp 2 is compatible with popular video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Google Meet. When not in use for video meetings, the room’s display can serve as digital signage, showcasing company logos or other important information via Logitech Sync.

Pricing and availability

Logitech has announced that MeetUp 2 will be available in August 2024, priced at US$899. Further details on local pricing and availability will be provided as they become available.
