LG partners with Xbox to bring cloud gaming to LG Smart TVs

LG partners with Xbox to bring cloud gaming to Smart TVs via the Gaming Portal, offering seamless access to hundreds of Xbox Game Pass titles.

LG Electronics has announced an exciting partnership with Xbox, bringing Xbox Cloud Gaming to its latest Smart TVs. Through the newly launched Gaming Portal, LG Smart TV owners will soon have access to hundreds of Xbox games directly from their TV screens without needing a console.

The Gaming Portal, designed as an all-in-one hub for gamers, offers a smooth and personalised experience for navigating both AAA titles and casual games available on webOS. This new feature aims to provide easy access to a variety of games from leading gaming partners, including Xbox.

Hundreds of Xbox games at your fingertips

Gaming enthusiasts will soon be able to explore the Gaming Portal for direct access to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This subscription service offers a vast library of popular titles, including Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, along with upcoming highly anticipated releases such as Avowed.

Players subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will also have the ability to stream select Xbox games they already own, including fan favourites like NBA 2K25 and Hogwarts Legacy.

Chris Jo, Senior Vice President of Platform Business at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, shared his excitement about the collaboration: โ€œWe are thrilled to announce the partnership with Xbox, which aims to enrich the gaming experience on LG Smart TVs with a broader selection of popular games. The Gaming Portal will provide users with a seamless, convenient, and exciting way to enhance the gaming experience on LG Smart TVs.โ€

Lori Wright, Corporate Vice President of Xbox, added: โ€œOur partnership with LG will help players easily discover and play games through the new Gaming Portal on LG Smart TVs. Weโ€™re fortunate to have a great partner in LG who will bring Xbox Cloud Gaming to more players, letting new and longtime Xbox’ers find their favourite games and play with friends across screens.โ€

A user-friendly gaming hub powered by webOS

The Gaming Portal is powered by LGโ€™s webOS and is accessible directly from the TV Home Screen. Its intuitive design ensures users can easily browse, discover, and launch their favourite games without hassle.

The portal offers an organised layout, featuring cloud gaming apps, webOS app games that can be played using the TV remote, and a list of recently played titles. Users will also find curated recommendations, the top 10 most popular games, and editorโ€™s picks, all tailored to enhance their gaming experience.

This collaboration marks another step forward for both LG and Xbox in making high-quality gaming experiences more accessible to a broader audience. LG Smart TV users can look forward to enjoying their favourite Xbox titles from the comfort of their living rooms without requiring any additional hardware.
