LG introduces Google Cast-integrated hotel TVs at ISE 2025

LG launches Google Cast-integrated hotel TVs at ISE 2025, offering guests secure streaming options and boosting its hospitality tech leadership.

LG Electronics has unveiled its latest innovation in hospitality technology by integrating Google Cast into its new line of hotel TVs. The official launch was showcased at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, from 4 to 7 February. The addition of Google Cast offers guests a secure and seamless way to stream their favourite apps and entertainment directly from their personal devices to hotel room TVs. This development reinforces LGโ€™s leadership in the hospitality TV sector, a key part of its rapidly expanding B2B business.

Starting 10 January 2025, LG Hotel TVs operating on webOS23 or newer can support Google Cast with hotel-specific features. The integration is designed with privacy and security in mind. Each roomโ€™s connection is isolated to prevent cross-device interference between different hotel guests. Connecting to the hotel TV is simpleโ€”guests just scan a QR code on the screen to link their smartphone or other devices. This method eliminates the need to input personal credentials on the TV. The connection remains active throughout the stay and is automatically deleted upon checkout, ensuring a hassle-free experience.

Paik Ki-mun, head of LGโ€™s Information Display Business at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, highlighted the convenience this technology brings: โ€œMany hotel guests nowadays wish to stream their favourite content from a personal device to their in-room TV. With LG Hotel TVs integrating Google Cast, they can enjoy a secure and convenient content-streaming experience, just like theyโ€™re used to at home. We will continue to strengthen our leadership in the hospitality TV market and enhance our B2B sector strategies.โ€

Bringing dual casting convenience to hotels

This update builds on LGโ€™s previous success with integrating Appleโ€™s AirPlay technology. In 2023, LG became the first company to offer AirPlay integration in hotel TVs, with global deployment completed in 2024. With Google Cast now available, LG becomes the worldโ€™s first provider to offer both AirPlay and Google Cast capabilities simultaneously. This dual integration is designed to provide hotel guests with flexible, familiar streaming options, regardless of the devices they own.

In addition to the improved guest experience, LG offers the Pro:Centric management solution, which helps hotels personalise in-room content and services. Hotel operators can tailor welcome messages and promotional materials that automatically display when guests check in, further enhancing the overall guest experience.

Tiger Lan, senior director of engineering for multi-device experiences at Google, said, โ€œLG Hotel TVs with Google Cast will deliver a seamless entertainment experience for guests. Weโ€™re excited to see LGโ€™s momentum in bringing this seamless casting integration to the hospitality industry, providing travellers with the familiar comforts of home while on the go.โ€

Innovative hospitality tech at ISE 2025

During ISE 2025, LG presented its new hotel TVs in a dedicated exhibition space themed โ€œTransforming Stays into Memorable Hospitality Experiences.โ€ The setup allowed visitors to test the streaming capabilities of Google Cast-integrated LG Hotel TVs and explore LGโ€™s wide range of customisable solutions for the hospitality sector, including digital signage and software designed to improve operational efficiency.

LGโ€™s focus on the hospitality market reflects its broader strategy to offer tailored solutions for the B2B sector. With its innovative technologies and commitment to improving guest experiences, LG continues to expand its footprint globally, solidifying its position as a leader in the hospitality TV market.
