Japan tourism takes centre stage at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2024

Discover Japan at Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2024 with JNTOโ€™s interactive booth, featuring travel tips, omikuji fortunes, and exciting giveaways.

The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) will make its first-ever appearance at the Anime Festival Asia Singapore 2024 (AFASG24). Held from 29 November to 1 December 2024 at the Suntec Expo and Convention Centre, this partnership with J.CLAIR (Japan Council of Local Authorities for International Relations) invites anime and Japanese culture enthusiasts to explore Japan through an interactive and immersive booth experience at G30 in Hall 403.

Interactive activities and exclusive giveaways

JNTOโ€™s booth promises a unique mix of travel and cultural experiences, offering something special for anime lovers and Japan travel fans. Highlights include:

  • Travel information for anime enthusiasts: Visitors can browse brochures and guides spotlighting popular anime locations and must-visit destinations throughout Japan.
  • Omikuji travel fortune-telling: Try a twist on the traditional Japanese fortune-telling experience. Each omikuji slip reveals one of Japanโ€™s 47 prefectures, along with QR codes for detailed travel insights.
  • Stamp rally excitement: Join a stamp rally across various booths, including JNTOโ€™s, to collect stamps and qualify for a prize draw. Prizes include an Instax Mini 12, limited-edition AFASG24xJAPAN Music Festival Concert acrylic keychains, and AFASG24xLAM luggage boarding tags.
  • Japan-themed keepsakes: Complete a quick questionnaire at JNTOโ€™s booth to receive a special Mount Fuji drawstring bag as a token of your visit.

Manga-inspired booth design

The JNTO booth features a manga-style map of Japan that highlights the countryโ€™s diverse landscapes and iconic landmarks. Event-goers will spot familiar sights like Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture and Goryokaku Park in Hakodate City, Hokkaido, offering a visual journey through Japanโ€™s breathtaking geography and culture.

For those inspired by animeโ€™s idyllic scenery, the booth captures the nostalgic charm of Japanโ€™s countryside and lesser-known destinations. Detailed travel resources will guide visitors keen to explore the tranquil beauty of these hidden gems in person.

Connecting Singapore with Japan

By participating in AFASG24, JNTO aims to deepen connections with anime enthusiasts and Japanese culture fans in Singapore. Through this event, JNTO hopes to showcase the cultural richness of Japan, from iconic anime landmarks to unique travel opportunities that highlight lesser-known prefectures. This initiative aligns with JNTOโ€™s goal of fostering cultural exchange and promoting Japanโ€™s tourism to a global audience.
