Insta360’s new Go 3S camera offers 4K video, Apple Find My, and waterproofing

Discover the Insta360 Go 3S camera, featuring 4K video, Apple Find My, AI editing, and up to 10m waterproofing. It is now available globally.

Insta360 has unveiled the latest addition to its Go camera series, the Insta360 Go 3S. This new model introduces several enhanced features while maintaining the compact design of its predecessor, the Go 3. One of the most significant upgrades is the latest internal chip, which offers 50% more computing power. This upgrade, combined with a new wide-angle lens, introduces the MegaView FOV, providing a more realistic view with minimal distortion. As a result, the Go 3S can capture video in stunning 4K at 30 fps.

Enhanced features and performance

The Go 3S supports Dolby Vision and boasts improved slow-motion capabilities, allowing up to 200 fps at 1080p or 100 fps at 2.7K. Weighing just 39 grammes, this lightweight camera can be mounted in various spots, such as on a cap or a pet’s collar, using the Easy Clip accessory. Additionally, it can be magnetically attached to a shirt via the Magnet Pendant accessory.

Vloggers will appreciate the new Interval Video mode, which eliminates the need to turn the camera on manually for periodic shots. Once programmed, the camera can automatically power on and capture footage at set intervals.

The Action Pod housing from the Go 3 is retained, serving as a charger and remote control for the Go 3S. The 2.2-inch flip touchscreen allows for shot previews, whether the camera is mounted separately or inside the Action Pod. A quick twist enables easy switching between horizontal and vertical shooting.

Convenience and AI integration

Given the camera’s small size, it’s easy to misplace. However, Insta360 has integrated Apple’s Find My app compatibility, enabling users to track the camera if it goes missing. The Go 3S also boasts up to 10 metres of waterproofing, an improvement from the 5 metres offered by the Go 3.

Insta360 has embraced AI technology with the Go 3S. The AI Gesture Control feature allows users to start and stop recording using hand gestures. For those who prefer not to edit videos themselves, the Auto Edit function in the Insta360 app uses AI to combine clips into a single video, complete with a music track.

Availability and pricing

The Insta360 Go 3S is now available globally through Insta360’s website, Lazada, Shopee, Amazon, and selected authorised retailers.

The Standard Bundle is priced at S$589 for the 64GB model and S$639 for the 128GB model. For those looking to upgrade from the Go 3, the Go 3S camera can be purchased for S$359 (64GB) or S$399 (128GB).
