Japanese eyewear chain company, OWNDAYS, announced late last year that they are collaborating with Mobile Suit to celebrate the anime series’ 40th anniversary. This themed collection has been confirmed to be released exclusively at OWNDAYS Jewel Changi outlet on 6 January 2020.

For this , the company has designed four glasses frames inspired by four different Mobile Suits from the series. Also, OWNDAYS has crafted an RX-78-2 Head Glasses Case to accompany the frame series.

The 1:7 scale head-shaped case is modeled after the iconic look of the original Gundam, RX-78-2, piloted by Amuro Ray. Complete with all the technical panels, the case features compartments that slide out and open to hold an assortment of frames.

The accompanying frame series is also crafted of stainless steel and expresses colors tied to the RX-78-2, Dom Trooper, Char’s Zaku II, and Zaku II Mobile Suits. Each frame will retail at S$198, and comes with an exclusive spectacle case and cleaning cloth, in theme with the respective mobile suit.

The RX-78-2 head-shaped case, on the other hand, is retailing at S$580, which will launch in early March 2020, with only 50 available units in Singapore. Pre-orders for the case will start on 10 January.
