Google launches AI note-taking app in the US

Google's NotebookLM, now powered by Gemini Pro AI, launches in the US, offering enhanced note-taking capabilities and intelligent features.

Google has recently rolled out its innovative AI note-taking application, NotebookLM, across the United States. Enhanced by Google’s latest Gemini Pro AI model, this app aims to improve document understanding and reasoning significantly.

NotebookLM: Revolutionising note-taking

This advanced application offers remarkable features like summarising documents, identifying key points, and responding to queries about the content. A notable addition is its ability to transform notes into various formats, such as outlines or study guides, and more personalised formats, like emails or newsletters.

Smart features and expanded functionality

NotebookLM now comes with intelligent action suggestions based on your in-app activities. For instance, it might enhance your writing or suggest related ideas from your sources. The app also enables users to save useful AI responses as notes, share notes with others, and focus the AI on specific sources during interactions.

Broadened access and future prospects

Initially introduced as “Project Tailwind” at Google’s I/O conference in May, NotebookLM has undergone significant development. It now supports up to 20 sources per notebook, each containing up to 200,000 words. This expansion, open to all US users over 18, aligns with the recent introduction of Google’s Gemini, a potential competitor to GPT-4.
