Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series lands on Xbox

The Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series is now available on Xbox with revamped visuals, custom gameplay options, and special bundle pricing.

Square Enix’s beloved Pixel Remaster series has finally arrived on Xbox, bringing a collection of retro gaming classics to fans. These remasters, which first came to PC and mobile in 2021 and later to the Switch and PS4 last year, are now available for the Xbox Series X/S consoles.

The series features remastered versions of Final Fantasy I through Final Fantasy VI, each updated with refreshed pixel art and sound to suit today’s high-definition displays better. Fans can enjoy these timeless classics with enhanced visual style while staying true to the games’ original charm.

Pricing and bundle offers

For Xbox players, the entire six-game series is available as a bundle for US$75, though there’s a limited-time offer where you can grab the whole set for US$60. If you prefer to buy them separately, the individual games range from US$12 to US$18 each, with discounted prices currently between US$9.59 and US$14.39. This allows casual players and die-hard fans to choose how they want to experience these iconic RPGs, depending on their interests or budget.

These prices make it easier for gamers to rediscover or even try the series for the first time. They offer a fresh take on the classic gameplay that helped shape the role-playing genre in the ’80s and ’90s.

New features for a fresh experience

While the essence of the original games remains intact, the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series comes with a host of updates to improve your experience. Along with the revamped pixel graphics, the games feature remastered soundtracks, although you can switch back to the original chiptune tracks if you prefer that retro feel.

Another major update comes in the form of gameplay customisations. For those who find the grind of traditional Final Fantasy battles too time-consuming, there are options to increase experience points gained by up to four times or even turn off random enemy encounters altogether. Auto-battle mode is also available for a more relaxed playthrough, making the series more accessible to seasoned players and newcomers.

Players can also choose between an updated modern font and the original font style to personalise their experience further.

Additional games on Xbox

Square Enix has brought other popular titles to Xbox alongside the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series. You can now pick up Trials of Mana for US$50 and Legend of Mana for US$30, both offering fans more opportunities to dive into the iconic RPG worlds Square Enix is famous for.

Furthermore, the highly anticipated Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake is now available for pre-order. Its release date is set for November 14. The remake is priced at US$60 and offers yet another nostalgic trip with an updated visual twist.

This marks an exciting time for Xbox players as these iconic games from Square Enix continue to be revitalised for modern platforms, giving you a chance to revisit or experience them for the first time in a fresh, updated way.
