ESET strengthens home security solutions with new identity protection features

ESET launches an enhanced HOME Security platform, featuring identity protection and dark web monitoring to combat rising cyber threats like ransomware.

ESET, a global cybersecurity provider, has introduced an upgraded version of its ESET HOME Security platform, aimed at addressing growing concerns over identity theft and evolving cyber threats. The latest enhancements include new tools like Identity Protection and ESET Folder Guard, designed to protect users from an increasing number of automated and AI-driven attacks.

With the rise of sophisticated cyber threats such as ransomware, phishing, and scams, data privacy is becoming a key issue for consumers. ESET HOME Security provides an all-in-one solution that helps tackle these issues, while maintaining ease of use. The security platform is available across all major operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS. It also covers a wide range of smart home devices, offering a comprehensive layer of protection for families.

New features for enhanced security

Parvinder Walia, ESETโ€™s President for Asia Pacific and Japan, emphasised the companyโ€™s commitment to consumer protection: โ€œWith the launch of our upgraded ESET HOME Security, we are reaffirming our commitment to protecting consumers in an increasingly complex digital landscape. Our new features, including Dark Web Monitoring, empower individuals to safeguard their personal information and enjoy peace of mind while navigating online. ESET remains dedicated to staying one step ahead of cyber threats, ensuring that our users are well-protected against identity theft, ransomware, and more.โ€

Among the newly introduced features is Dark Web Monitoring, which forms part of ESET Identity Protection. This technology actively searches the dark web for any illicit trading or selling of users’ personal data, sending immediate alerts so users can act swiftly to secure their information.

Another key feature is ESET Folder Guard, designed to protect valuable data from threats like ransomware and worms. Windows users can select certain folders that will be safeguarded against unauthorised modifications or deletions by untrusted applications.

Improved performance and user experience

ESET has also focused on enhancing the overall performance of its security solutions. Multithread Scanning, for instance, distributes scanning processes across multiple CPU cores in Windows devices, which significantly boosts efficiency. Another feature, Link Scanner, offers an additional layer of protection for Android smartphone users, blocking potentially harmful links in various apps, including games, social media, and messaging platforms.

For gaming enthusiasts, the improved Gamer Mode reduces interruptions during gameplay by minimising CPU usage and suppressing pop-ups. This feature can now automatically launch based on the user’s app preferences, with an option to display interactive alerts even while in gamer mode.

The Password Manager has also been upgraded to include remote logout capabilities and a security report that alerts users if any stored passwords are weak or repeated across accounts. Additionally, it supports third-party two-factor authentication (2FA) programmes to provide an extra layer of security.

Tailored security for every user

ESET has extended these improvements to Mac users as well, introducing a unified firewall with both basic and advanced setup options. The new interface caters to a range of users, from those needing simple protection to those seeking more advanced settings.

This upgraded ESET HOME Security platform is ideal for users looking for a comprehensive solution that covers privacy protection, identity protection, and performance optimisation. In an increasingly dangerous cyber environment, having robust protection is no longer an option but a necessity.
