DXC and Ferrari join forces for next-gen vehicle technology

[output_post_excerpt]

DXC announced an extended partnership with Ferrari to develop cutting-edge infotainment systems for the iconic carmaker’s next-generation vehicles. Building on a collaboration that began in 2021, DXC’s expertise will help Ferrari deliver a superior in-car experience while maintaining its legacy of high-performance design.

The collaboration includes advancements in the Human Machine Interface (HMI) technology that underpins Ferrari’s infotainment systems. DXC’s innovative solutions aim to provide seamless functionality and adaptability, ensuring Ferrari vehicles continue to set benchmarks in luxury and performance.

Ernesto Lasalandra, Ferrari’s Chief Research and Development Officer, said DXC’s role is pivotal in accelerating their software development. “DXC is a market-leading innovator in the automotive industry, enabling us to accelerate the development of our software platform and its components as well as state-of-the-art functionalities and usability,” he explained.

F80 supercar features DXC’s bespoke software

As part of this partnership, DXC contributed to the development of the software for Ferrari’s F80, the automaker’s latest supercar, which debuted in October 2024. The F80, designed for both road and track use, boasts an advanced infotainment system powered by DXC’s custom-built software.

The car’s “digital cockpit” is a standout feature, combining multiple high-resolution displays to create an immersive driving experience. The system provides real-time data, including speed, G-force, revs and tyre pressure, making it suitable for high-performance driving. On the track, the display shifts to a racing-focused interface, allowing drivers to access critical information seamlessly. For added passenger engagement, an optional screen offers real-time data and visuals to enhance their experience.

The result is a high-speed, performance-oriented experience that reflects Ferrari’s dedication to both innovation and driver satisfaction. DXC’s role in creating this “digital cockpit” reinforces its position as a leader in automotive technology.

Luz G. Mauch, DXC’s Executive Vice-President for Automotive and Manufacturing, said the company’s partnership with Ferrari aligns with its expertise in delivering groundbreaking solutions. “DXC brings its deep experience in the automotive sector to our partnership with Ferrari, one of the most prestigious carmakers in the world. The cutting-edge software innovations we develop today will help transform the driver experience for decades to come,” he said.

Transforming the driver experience for the future

With this extended partnership, Ferrari aims to push the boundaries of in-car technology, ensuring its vehicles remain at the forefront of automotive excellence. Meanwhile, DXC continues to solidify its reputation as a top innovator in the automotive industry, bridging the gap between performance engineering and technological advancement.
