Cybersecurity unicorn Semperis strengthens identity-driven resilience in Singapore after major funding success

Semperis enhances cybersecurity in Singapore with US$125M funding, partnerships, and training to combat growing cyber threats and ransomware attacks.

Semperis, a leader in identity-driven cyber resilience, is intensifying its efforts to protect Singapore businesses from cyber threats. Following a successful US$125 million funding round in June 2024, the company aims to enhance product innovation and expand its reach across the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region.

Since entering the Singapore market in 2021, Semperis has achieved over 100% annual growth. This progress has been driven by strategic alliances and partnerships, enabling businesses to adopt critical tools and expertise to tackle evolving cyber threats. The company’s renewed focus comes as organisations worldwide face mounting challenges in cyber resilience.

Rising importance of cyber resilience

The increasing fallout from cyberattacks has made cyber resilience a priority for organisations globally. According to the Semperis Ransomware Risk Report 2024, 83% of surveyed organisations have experienced ransomware attacks, with 78% of victims paying ransoms and 74% suffering multiple strikes. As a significant hub, Singapore has witnessed a 145% year-on-year rise in cyberattacks, resulting in S$34 million in losses from scams recorded in 2023 alone.

“Singapore’s standing as a key financial hub makes it a prime target for cybersecurity attacks, with a 145% year-on-year increase in annual cyberattacks and losses of S$34 million over scams recorded in 2023 alone. This results in more companies shifting their stance from reactive defence to proactive identity security,” said Mickey Bresman, CEO and Co-Founder, Semperis.

Semperis focuses on identity management as the new security perimeter, equipping organisations to proactively prevent, mitigate, and recover from attacks. The company’s solutions enable rapid recovery while reducing downtime by up to 90%, safeguarding critical operations.

Expanding partnerships and regional growth

Semperis is preparing for an aggressive APJ growth strategy in 2025, supported by triple-digit revenue growth and an expanded sales pipeline. The company has signed distribution agreements across key Southeast Asian markets, including India, Australia, South Korea, and Taiwan, growing partnerships by more than 100%.

Semperis collaborates with leading organisations across telecommunications, financial services, and transportation. Partners like Imperium Solutions and TruVisor have significantly bolstered their cybersecurity offerings with Semperis’s expertise.

“TruVisor’s partnership with Semperis has been a game changer, significantly enhancing our cybersecurity offerings. Their expertise in identity security, combined with our strengths in asset intelligence, cloud security, data protection, and digitalisation and , creates a robust security ecosystem. This collaboration has given us peace of mind by protecting critical systems against the most sophisticated threats, improving cybersecurity posture, and helping our customers stay ahead of emerging threats throughout the product lifecycle,” said Jonathan Juay, Executive Director, TruVisor.

Investing in local talent for cybersecurity innovation

Recognised by Inc. Magazine as one of the Best Places to Work in 2024, Semperis is addressing the global cybersecurity skills gap by investing in local talent. The company plans to double its Singapore workforce in 2025 to meet the growing demand for identity-focused cybersecurity solutions.

In January 2025, Semperis will launch certified training programmes in Singapore, starting with pre-sales engineers, before expanding to other Southeast Asian markets. These initiatives aim to equip local professionals with advanced skills to drive innovation in industries such as healthcare and financial services, where demand for cybersecurity solutions is highest.

By strengthening its partnerships, expanding its reach, and investing in workforce development, Semperis is well-positioned to lead the charge in building a cyber-resilient future for Singapore and beyond.
