Commvault recognised as a leader in data resilience solutions by top research firm

Commvault recognised as a leader in The Forrester Wave for data resilience solutions, earning top scores for innovation and cloud-native capabilities.

Commvault, a prominent provider of cyber resilience and data protection solutions for hybrid cloud environments, has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Data Resilience Solutions, Q4 2024. The independent report evaluates technology vendors on their ability to offer robust data resilience solutions, categorising them into Leaders, Strong Performers, and Contenders. Commvault achieved the top score in the “current offering” category.

High scores across critical criteria

Commvault’s performance in the report was bolstered by receiving the highest possible scores in 13 criteria, including hyperscale cloud/IaaS capabilities, regulatory compliance, supported SaaS platforms, protection for generative AI models, and recovery to alternate infrastructures. These results highlight the versatility and reliability of its modern, cloud-native software offerings.

Forrester specifically acknowledged Commvaultโ€™s advancements in its core platform, Commvault Cloud, which integrates Metallic AI capabilities and innovative solutions acquired through acquisitions like TrapX and Appranix. These additions power features like Threatwise and Cloud Rewind, enhancing cyber resilience and recovery capabilities.

The companyโ€™s comprehensive data protection suite covers on-premises, hybrid cloud, and SaaS environments. This breadth is a defining strength, with Forrester noting, “Commvault has the most comprehensive supported workload list of all the vendors in this evaluation.” The report also highlighted the productโ€™s superior reliability, based on feedback from reference customers.

Industry-leading innovation

Rajiv Kottomtharayil, Chief Product Officer at Commvault, expressed pride in the recognition. “Commvault is committed to delivering industry-leading cloud-first cyber resilience solutions that help our customers anticipate, mitigate, and recover from cyberattacks,” he said. “This is where our strength lies, and we believe the industry agrees. We have been recognised as a leader not only in this Forrester Wave but also in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions and the GigaOm Sonar Report for Cloud-Native Data Protection.”

Forrester also praised Commvault’s focus on innovation, citing its investment in research and development, as well as strategic acquisitions. The companyโ€™s ecosystem of partners, including those in channel, technology, and infrastructure, was noted as another strength.

Ideal for complex environments

The report positions Commvault as a strong choice for enterprises managing large, complex IT environments across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS platforms. With its ability to support a broad range of workloads and provide reliable recovery solutions, Commvault continues to solidify its role as a leader in the data resilience market.
