Check Point and Illumio partner to strengthen Zero Trust security with integrated threat prevention

Check Point and Illumio partner to boost Zero Trust security with integrated threat detection, segmentation, and real-time breach containment.

Check Point Software Technologies and Illumio have announced a strategic partnership to accelerate Zero Trust adoption and improve threat prevention for enterprises operating across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The collaboration combines Check Point’s AI-powered Infinity Platform with Illumio’s breach containment capabilities, offering a unified approach to identifying and stopping lateral movement – a key tactic used by attackers once inside a network.

The integration brings together Check Point’s Quantum Force Firewalls, Infinity Threat Cloud AI, and Security Management software with Illumio Segmentation and Illumio Insights. This enables organisations to quickly detect threats, block malicious lateral movement, and strengthen their cyber defences.

Joint platform enables real-time response and AI-driven visibility

Through this partnership, customers gain enhanced visibility into threats and the ability to implement dynamic policy enforcement at scale. When a threat is identified, Check Point’s AI-driven Security Management platform immediately updates firewall policies to block the attack. The collaboration with Illumio adds another layer of intelligence by mapping attack paths and vulnerabilities, helping security teams to rapidly isolate affected systems and stop an attacker’s movement within the network.

“Stopping lateral movement is critical to breach prevention,” said Itai Greenberg, Chief Revenue Officer at Check Point Software. “Our partnership with Illumio delivers unmatched visibility and adaptive policy enforcement, empowering organisations to contain threats fast. It also demonstrates the strength of our hybrid mesh architecture, which we envision as an open garden, and our commitment to driving Zero Trust strategies with industry leaders.”

Check Point’s Quantum Force firewalls serve as high-performance enforcement points, while the AI-driven policy engine ensures that emerging threats are immediately addressed. Illumio’s platform complements this by using segmentation and real-time analytics to identify high-risk pathways and help organisations act before damage is done.

Zero Trust adoption made easier for complex IT environments

The companies emphasise that the integration simplifies Zero Trust implementation across hybrid infrastructures. Illumio’s microsegmentation approach protects critical assets without requiring a major overhaul of existing systems. Combined with proactive threat intelligence from Check Point’s ThreatCloud AI and Illumio Insights, the solution helps organisations identify risks earlier, contain breaches faster, and reduce overall exposure.

“This powerful collaboration between Illumio and Check Point marks a significant step forward in cybersecurity threat intelligence and breach containment,” said Andrew Rubin, CEO and Founder of Illumio. “The integration of Illumio and Check Point represents a shift towards smarter, more adaptive cybersecurity by enhancing visibility, enabling real-time threat detection and response, and providing adaptive security measures that align with Zero Trust principles. Our proactive approach helps security teams connect the dots and uncover hidden threats more efficiently to avoid cyber disasters.”

Integrated platforms offer comprehensive cyber resilience

Illumio Segmentation and Illumio Insights are core components of the Illumio Platform, which focuses on containing breaches and enabling fast incident response. Illumio Insights uses an AI security graph to detect threats, while Segmentation helps stop their spread. Together, they form a proactive shield that protects key digital assets and limits the impact of attacks.

Check Point’s Quantum Force line delivers AI-powered, cloud-based gateways that provide consistent policy enforcement across cloud, on-premises, and firewall-as-a-service environments. This range is part of the broader Check Point Infinity Platform, which offers end-to-end protection through a unified security framework.

By combining their respective strengths, Check Point and Illumio aim to help organisations manage the growing complexity of cybersecurity threats, respond to breaches with speed and precision, and adopt Zero Trust strategies with confidence.
