ChatGPT Plus unveils new beta features including file uploads and multimodal support

OpenAI updates ChatGPT Plus with new beta features, adding file uploads and multimodal support, making it more aligned with its Enterprise version.

OpenAI is making the ChatGPT Plus subscription more robust by introducing new beta features. Users no longer have to navigate through different modes like “Browse with Bing” in the GPT-4 dropdown menu. The system now automatically determines the user’s needs based on the context of their inquiry.

What subscribers can expect

The upgrades offer some perks commonly associated with the ChatGPT Enterprise plan but tailored for individual subscribers. While testing the Advanced Data Analysis feature, after uploading a file, the chatbot takes a moment to process the data. Once that’s done, ChatGPT can perform various tasks, such as summarising data, answering queries, or even creating data visualisations based on user prompts.

Not just for text files

But it’s not all about text files. The chatbot’s capabilities extend beyond text. As highlighted in a Threads post, a user uploaded an image of a capybara and asked ChatGPT, through DALL-E 3, to transform it into a Pixar-style image. They followed that up by uploading an image of a skateboard and requested its inclusion in the initial image. Interestingly, the chatbot also decided to add a hat to the skateboard for reasons yet to be explained.
