Canon Singapore’s ‘Think Big’ leadership business series explores political, tech, and business trends

Canon Singapore’s 'Think Big' series covers AI tools, flexible work guidelines, and insights on navigating political and tech changes for 2025.

Canon Singapore Pte. Ltd. (Canon Singapore) is hosting its annual ‘Think Big’ Leadership Business Series on 29 and 30 October, focusing on the theme “The Year of Elections – Surviving and Thriving Amid Political Changes.” This two-day event brings together industry leaders to discuss the connections between politics, business, and technology, both locally and globally, offering essential insights in a shifting landscape.

The series includes keynote addresses by industry experts, an AI technology showcase, and partnerships with the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP) and SME Centre@SCCCI. Together, these sessions aim to equip leaders with practical strategies to manage the complexities of today’s business environment.

Each morning session addresses how political changes impact businesses. The first day features the topic “The Vision for Singapore, According to 4G,” focusing on policy changes affecting Singapore’s workforce and business landscape. For the first time, a Mandarin session will also be held in the afternoon, enhancing accessibility and Canon’s commitment to inclusive knowledge sharing.

The second day’s session, “The World in 2025,” explores the broader picture, examining global political shifts and business impacts. In line with this theme, Canon has partnered with TAFEP and SME Centre@SCCCI for the “Flex Forward” segment, which focuses on the new Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangement Requests (TG-FWAR), effective from December 2024. TAFEP experts will provide guidance on implementing flexible work policies, allowing businesses to adapt to evolving employee expectations around workplace flexibility.

Vincent Low, Head of Enterprise Business, Singapore Operations at Canon Singapore, explained the event’s goals: “Tailored to reflect current trends and industry shifts, the Canon annual ‘Think Big’ Leadership Business Series provides timely insights addressing the challenges shaping our economies and businesses. As we celebrate Canon’s 45th anniversary in Singapore, we continue to uphold our vision of ‘Business Can Be Simple’, empowering enterprises to thrive in today’s dynamic work environments.”

AI technology showcase highlights solutions for modern business

Canon Singapore’s “Towards AI” technology showcase supports the growing demand for digital technology adoption, as revealed in the Singapore government’s Digital Enterprise Blueprint, where 95% of local SMEs reported using digital tools to boost productivity. This showcase will debut Antelope Genie, an AI-powered content management solution designed to improve efficiency in content handling across departments. Using large language model (LLM) technology, Antelope Genie simplifies tasks such as content extraction, analysis, generation, summarisation, and comparison, enabling organisations to streamline document processes and enhance productivity.

Canon will also highlight other AI tools within its Smart Workspace suite, including a generative AI-based cybersecurity tool to improve threat detection, workplace AI solutions for security and operations, and AI-driven video synopsis tools to speed up post-incident analysis. These innovations are part of Canon’s strategy to help enterprises improve productivity with advanced, business-friendly technology.

The “Towards AI” showcase reflects Canon’s commitment to integrating innovative solutions into business workflows, enabling improved efficiency and operations across industries. Recognising the potential of AI, Canon is focused on delivering tools that meet the demands of a rapidly advancing business landscape.

Flex Forward and preparing for flexible work

On the event’s second day, the Flex Forward segment, in collaboration with TAFEP and SME Centre@SCCCI, will focus on TG-FWAR guidelines. SME Centre@SCCCI and Canon Singapore speakers will discuss current workforce trends, focusing on building an employer brand appealing to Gen Z talent, who prioritise flexible work. Participants will also gain insights on using technology to enable remote work and increase workplace flexibility.

Attendees will learn how flexible work models can support business competitiveness, particularly when engaging Gen Z employees. Canon’s Business Process Outsourcing Services and Document Solutions offer adaptable document management options, helping businesses future-proof their workflows and remain resilient amid workforce changes.

The event will conclude with a panel discussion featuring leaders from academia, finance, and business sectors. These experts will share insights on the outlook for 2025, providing attendees with a perspective on emerging trends that are likely to shape their industries.
