Blackpanda partners with CSA to enhance cybersecurity response and insurance in Singapore

Blackpanda and CSA partner to enhance cybersecurity response in Singapore, sharing intelligence to benefit businesses and strengthen cyber resilience.

Blackpanda, a leader in digital forensics, cyber emergency response, and insurance across Asia-Pacific, has signed a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) with Singaporeโ€™s Cyber Security Agency (CSA) to strengthen cybersecurity measures in the country. The collaboration centres on intelligence sharing between the two organisations, enhancing their ability to respond swiftly and effectively to cyber threats.

Under the MoC, Blackpanda and CSA will exchange critical threat intelligence, including information on emerging vulnerabilities, recent cyber incidents, and trends in cyber threats. This collaborative effort aims to build a comprehensive cybersecurity knowledge base, empowering both entities to respond more efficiently to Singaporeโ€™s evolving cyber threats. Blackpanda previously joined forces with the Singapore Police Force as part of the Alliance of Public-Private Cybercrime Stakeholders, sharing cybercrime intelligence over the last three years.

Gene Yu, CEO and founder of Blackpanda, highlighted the importance of this partnership in reinforcing Singaporeโ€™s cybersecurity infrastructure. โ€œThis collaboration with CSA represents a pivotal step forward in our mission to provide affordable cyber emergency response to everyone,โ€ Yu said. He emphasised that sharing Blackpandaโ€™s Attack Surface Management data, paired with digital forensics analysis after confirmed attacks, would deepen CSAโ€™s understanding of Singaporeโ€™s cyber threat landscape, โ€œincluding attack frequency by market and industry.โ€

Benefits for Singaporean businesses

Yu also noted that the partnership would benefit Singaporean businesses by providing them with valuable insights into cyberattack trends. This information will help companies make better decisions about data privacy and cybersecurity strategies. The partnership will shed light on cyberattack patterns across different sectors, empowering businesses to strengthen their resilience.

With this collaboration, CSA joins Blackpandaโ€™s network of prominent partners in Singapore, which includes Singtel and the Singapore Police Force. Blackpandaโ€™s IR-1 SaaS product, a fixed-cost cyber emergency response subscription, is designed to make cybersecurity more accessible to organisations of all sizes. Currently, IR-1 is distributed by Asiaโ€™s leading communications group Singtel, as well as Macroview (an HGC group company) and Companhia de Telecomunicaรงรตes de Macau.

Dan Yock Hau, Assistant Chief Executive of National Cyber Resilience at CSA, expressed support for the partnership, stating, โ€œCybersecurity is a team effort. Companies like Blackpanda play an important role in helping enterprises defend against cyber threats and recover from breaches.โ€ He added, โ€œCSAโ€™s collaboration with Blackpanda highlights our commitment to work closely with industry players to protect Singaporeโ€™s cyberspace.โ€

Commitment to building cyber resilience

This collaboration marks a significant step in enhancing Singaporeโ€™s cybersecurity resilience. The MoC includes provisions for both Blackpanda and CSA to review and refine their joint efforts annually, ensuring they remain prepared for the ever-changing cyber threat landscape. By combining their expertise and resources, the partnership aims to build a robust cybersecurity framework that will benefit both organisations and the wider Singaporean business community.
