Singapore is famous for its fast Internet connection thanks to the three big companies that started it — Singtel, StarHub, and M1. Since then, some new players have appeared on the market, and the Internet speed and coverage have only improved.

Most of them are virtual operators, meaning they don’t own fiber-optic networks. They use the ones already in place and most of the time owned by Singtel. By renting their infrastructure, they can still offer their customers good bandwidth at a fair rate. This is a very good deal for customers, but it is hard to choose between various plans and options. We help you find the one that will fit you the best.

Singtel

Let’s look over Singtel’s offers for two-year-long contracts.

SpeedCost per month
1GbpsS$44.90 (U.P. S$49.90)
1Gbps with WiFi MeshS$45.90 (U.P. S$54.90)
2Gbps with Mesh ExtenderS$59.90 (U.P. S$69.90)
1+1Gbps Gamer BundleS$64.90
10Gbps with Mesh ExtenderS$169
Note: Some of the prices might vary depending on the current promotions (Updated 9 Aug 2022)

Singtel falls a bit on the pricy end of subscription costs. It offers a wide variety of plans that you can choose from and is the only one to offer the speed of 10Gbps. It turns people down that the plans are not available for only one year, but you need to sign up for two years-long contracts with them. Signing for their services would mean that you can take advantage of an activation charge waiver of S$56.71.

Singtel’s key benefit is choosing the router and/or WiFi mesh you would like to use at your home. The installation of the router is also entirely free. On top of that, you will get a free home line if you want to use one. Even the lower plan still offers a very stable internet connection, which is why Singel is still the primary choice of many people.

If you are also using Singel as a mobile phone provider, you will be able to use a 10% discount for it. Other company benefits are excellent customer service and assistance when you have any issues. Their exclusive online deals often offer significant discounts, free registration, installation and activation, and many others.

StarHub

StarHub has fewer offers and one for a one-year-long contract.

SpeedCost per month (2 years contract)Cost per month (1-year contract)
500MbpsS$29.90
1GbpsS$45.90 (with Disney+)S$49.90
2GbpsS$62.90 (with Disney+)
Note: Some of the prices might vary depending on the current promotions (Updated 9 Aug 2022)

StarHub is an excellent option if you don’t need a high-speed connection and you want to save some bucks. This provider also offers free additions like activation and installation but only for the two higher plans. The connection you will get from StarHub is high-speed and secure. You can enjoy streaming whatever content you want and also some gaming.

Right now, if you subscribe for 24 months for 1Gbps or 2Gbps, you will get an additional bonus — Disney+ subscription for one year! And people that want to get the 1Gbps will get their subscription for free four months and also a free Smart WiFi. If you prefer the 2Gbps option, you will receive a free Smart WiFi Pro. Isn’t that a sweet deal?

StarHub is known for its 24/7 customer support, which is more than happy to help. Whenever you have issues that can’t be fixed remotely, they also send a person to check everything quickly. They are also more than happy to assist if you have any speed problems.

M1

Here are the plans that M1 offers.

SpeedCost per month (2 years contract)Cost per month (1-year contract)
500MbpsS$29.90S$39.90
1GbpsS$39.90S$49.90
1Gbps (GamePRO)S$52
2GbpsS$59.90
Note: Some of the prices might vary depending on the current promotions (Updated 9 Aug 2022)

M1 has gained some popularity in recent years. Before virtual operators were a thing, M1 just couldn’t compete with the others. Still, since it is not offering such high-speed plans as Singtel, they also tried to lower their prices and offer some additional extras. They have two options for a yearly plan, which seems more reasonable for trying out a service for some people.

If you subscribe for 24 months for any of the 1Gbps or 2Gbps plans, you will get a free next-generation Wifi 6 router and 4G mobile broadband as long as your contract runs. This is perfect for gamers because the new router guarantees a stable connection and mobile broadband that they can use for their phones and tablets while playing to avoid lag.

Talking about gaming, you probably have noticed that M1 has a dedicated plan for gamers. If you get this one, this would mean that the traffic will be prioritized automatically, and the game one will be with the highest one. This might be one of the best options for a provider for a gamer.

MyRepublic

MyRepublic has a wider variety of plan options.

SpeedCost per month (2 years contract)Cost per month (1-year contract)
1GbpsS$37.99 (U.P. S$38.99)S$50.99
1Gbps (Gamer)S$50.99 (U.P. S$52.99)
1Gbps with TP-Link EX221 routerS$38.99 (U.P. S$49.99)
1Gbps with ASUS RT-AX3000 routerS$44.99 (U.P. S$49.99)
1Gbps with Google NestS$45.99 first 5 months (U.P. S$55.99)
1Gbps with TP-Link Deco X60 WiFi MeshS$54.99 (U.P. S$59.99)
2GbpsS$45.99 (U.P. S$59.99)
2Gbps (Gamer)S$56.99 (U.P. S$59.99)
Note: Some of the prices might vary depending on the current promotions (Updated 9 Aug 2022)

One of the great advantages of MyRepublic is that they offer a lot more flexibility when it also comes to the hardware that comes with the subscription. They also have something called a “no lock-in” period plan that you pay just as long as you need it. Of course, the price is significantly higher than those signed for a certain amount of time.

Choosing between a router and WiFi mesh is also a great plus for some users. Some people need a stable home connection for work or gaming, so they might prefer to get a WiFi mesh option. But of course, the plans with such options are much more expensive. However, this guarantees you a high-speed, stable, and secure connection.

The plans that M1 offers also include some freebies like a Google Assistant or the hardware you decide to get for your plan. You will get a phone line as an included bonus. The installation and activation are again for free; usually, once you sign up, this can happen quite fast.

Choosing the best fiber broadband for you

Living in Singapore can be considered a great fortune since you have a lot of internet providers to choose from. Depending on the speed you would like and the hardware you would need as a router, the price you would like to pay is also worth considering. Whatever option you choose, you will get a great internet connection to enjoy browsing, streaming, and gaming.
