ASUS unveils new AMD X870E, B850, and B840 motherboards

ASUS launches AMD X870E, B850, and B840 motherboards with upgraded connectivity, storage, and BIOS features for builders and gamers.

ASUS has officially introduced its latest range of motherboards, including the AMD B850 and B840 series, designed to complement AMD’s AM5 platform. These new releases span across ASUS’s ROG, ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, and Prime families, offering builders increased speed, better connectivity, and more options.

The flagship ROG Crosshair X870E Apex has also been revealed, targeting overclocking enthusiasts, while the ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme is set to follow shortly.

Enhanced features for every type of builder

ASUS B850 motherboards stand out with upgraded connectivity, including support for WiFi 7, faster DDR5 memory, and multiple USB and M.2 slots. These motherboards aim to simplify the building experience with features like tool-free M.2 SSD installation and ASUS’s PCIe Q-Release for easier graphics card removal.

On the other hand, the B840 series is tailored for users who prefer a budget-friendly option without compromising on reliability. These models focus on energy efficiency and support AMD processors with integrated graphics, making them ideal for compact builds.

The BIOS interface has also been upgraded to a 1920×1080 resolution, improving navigation and accessibility. ASUS’s new BIOS Q-Dashboard provides a visual overview of motherboard components, helping even first-time builders navigate settings more effectively.

ROG Strix B850 series: Premium gaming performance

The ROG Strix B850 series is built with gamers in mind, offering robust performance and advanced connectivity options. The ROG Strix B850-E Gaming WiFi leads the lineup with features like a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, multiple M.2 slots, and advanced overclocking tools. It also supports next-generation connectivity with WiFi 7 and 5G Ethernet.

For a slightly more affordable alternative, the ROG Strix B850-F Gaming WiFi offers a similar feature set while trimming down on luxury additions like USB4 connectivity.

The ROG Strix B850-A Gaming WiFi brings a unique aesthetic to the lineup, with a clean white and silver design tailored for themed builds. Meanwhile, the ROG Strix B850-I Gaming WiFi delivers powerful performance in a compact Mini-ITX form factor, supporting PCIe 5.0 graphics cards and DDR5 RAM.

TUF Gaming and Prime B840 series: Reliable and efficient

The TUF Gaming B850 series focuses on durability and essential gaming features. Models like the TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi and TUF Gaming B850M-Plus WiFi are built with enhanced cooling systems, corrosion-resistant components, and military-grade LAN protection.

For more budget-conscious builders, the Prime B840 series offers reliable performance without unnecessary frills. The Prime B840-Plus WiFi and Prime B840M-A WiFi are designed for energy-efficient builds while still supporting high-speed networking with 2.5G Ethernet and WiFi 6E.

ASUS has also included its AI Advisor software across these motherboards, offering users guidance on BIOS settings, optimisation , and system performance.

Future-ready motherboards

With these latest releases, ASUS continues to provide a range of motherboards that cater to diverse needs, from high-end gaming rigs to compact, energy-efficient builds. The ROG Crosshair X870E Apex and the upcoming ROG Crosshair X870E Extreme also demonstrate ASUS’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of motherboard performance.
