ASUS unveils comprehensive commercial lineup at CES 2022

Latest ExpertBook clamshell, flip and detachable laptops, ExpertCenter D700 desktops and Chromebook Flip CX5 all feature at the global technology showcase

ASUS today announced its comprehensive lineup of commercial solutions designed for both enterprise and education markets, with five key models on display at CES 2022 – including B5, B5 Flip and B3 Detachable, ExpertCenter D700 series and ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5.

The latest 14-inch ExpertBook B5 and B5 Flip models are designed to be the ultimate thin-and-lightweight business laptops powered by up to Core i7 processor and available in clamshell or convertible forms. There’s also the all-new ASUS ExpertBook B3 Detachable, which takes portability to a whole new level with a keyboard that detaches completely when not required.

ExpertBook laptops are built for business success in style, with a precision-crafted and minimalist chassis that pushes the limits of lightness — while boasting a slew of protections that adhere to the exacting U.S. military MIL-STD-810H standard. They empower stress-free remote working and travel with an amazing all-day battery life. They’re also engineered with many cutting-edge technologies to improve on-the-go work efficiency, including up to WiFi 6E for ultrafast, stable connections, AI noise cancelation for clear calls and conferencing anywhere, dual-SSD RAID support for fast and reliable storage, and ASUS NumberPad for rapid data entry. Additionally, they’re packed with features to protect personal privacy and business data, including a built-in fingerprint sensor for biometric login and a TPM 2.0 chip for data protection.

Powerful ExpertCenter desktop PCs, represented at CES 2022 by ExpertCenter D7 series, are engineered to deliver professional performance, unwavering reliability and diverse designs to fit any space — from small form factor (SFF) to full tower. The latest ExpertCenter D7 models are high-performance solutions featuring up to 12th Generation Intel Core i9 processors, and they include NVIDIA GeForce graphics. They also feature tool-free design for easy maintenance and manageability, are built to US military-grade durability standards, equipped with business-grade security and management.

ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 is a convertible laptop that has a fresh new look, and it features the latest 12th Generation Intel Core i7 processor plus WiFi 6E for powerful performance and connectivity. It also delivers supreme audio and visuals, making it ideal for any work, classroom or entertainment scenario. In addition, its three-sided, 16-inch NanoEdge display offers a 16:10 aspect ratio and fits more screen into the chassis for an expansive view.

Individually, the latest ASUS commercial models are variously innovative, powerful and versatile, while collectively they represent a complete solution for businesses, cloud natives and education users of all types.

ASUS ExpertBook B5 series

ASUS ExpertBook B5 is an ultralight, kilogram-class laptop series available in both traditional clamshell and 360° convertible forms for the ultimate in portability, flexibility and clarity. The new ExpertBook B5 (B5402C) and ExpertBook B5 Flip (B5402F) models, unveiled at CES 2022, feature expansive 14-inch displays — complementing the existing popular 13-inch ExpertBook B5 models to deliver a comprehensive lineup for business.

The new 14-inch ExpertBook B5 and B5 Flip laptops feature a precision-crafted and minimalist chassis that pushes the limits of lightness. Both the top and bottom covers are cut from pure aluminum, while the area around the keyboard is formed using magnesium-aluminum alloy. These premium materials and careful construction keep the weight down to as little as a feather-light 1.25 kg, while ensuring that the machines are ready for the rigors of everyday use in the office or on the go.

B5 and B5 Flip are also primed to perform, with an up to Intel Core i7 processor with Iris Xe graphics, 48 GB RAM and WiFi 6E — ensuring quick and responsive computing, superb graphical performance and ultrafast wireless networking. They also feature two SSDs to provide huge up to 2 TB capacity and extreme-speed data reads and writes. These drives also support RAID 0/1 technology for faster operation or improved data reliability.

The new B5 models are loaded with I/O ports, including cutting-edge Thunderbolt 4 with support for the next-level USB4 interface, 40 Gbps data transfer speeds, triple 4K display output and fast charging, plus a microSD card reader, Ethernet port, USB Type-A and an HDMI output.

The 14-inch displays on ExpertBook B5 and B5 Flip offer expansive viewing for efficient productivity. They’re bright, clear and vivid, and finished with an anti-glare coating to prevent distracting reflections — helping the user stay focused on their work. B5 Flip’s screen is touch-sensitive and supports both finger and stylus input for intuitive input to suit any need. An optional garaged stylus is always within reach, with only a 15-second charge providing enough power for 45 minutes of use.

As its name suggests, ExpertBook B5 Flip has a 360° flippable hinge, enabling it to be used in various ways — including both tent and tablet modes. This makes it ideal for instant collaboration, or for sharing content or presentations.

Life on the road is tough, so the new ExpertBook B5 and B5 Flip models are designed to meet and surpass exacting industry thresholds — including the ultra-demanding MIL-STD 810H US military standard. This means they’re built to survive every extreme, from freezing temperatures to the searing heat of deserts, and high-speed shocks as well as everyday bumps. They also undergo stringent in-house testing, including panel-pressure, shock and drop tests for an assurance of serious durability. Even the keyboard is resilient, engineered to resist everyday spills and splashes.

Each model is ready for professional conferencing, with two-way AI noise cancelation that employs sophisticated machine-learning techniques. The technology includes both an upstream function to filter noise around the speaker, and a downstream function to eliminate noise from the person at the other end of the conversation.

ASUS NumberPad is also optional with either ExpertBook B5 or B5 Flip. This is an LED-illuminated numeric keypad that’s perfect for crunching numbers. Clever software allows the mouse pointer to be controlled, even when NumberPad is activated.

Business security is another core aspect of the new ExpertBook B5 models. They benefit from robust security features to ensure that confidential and private data does not leak out, including an integrated fingerprint sensor, an IR camera for face login, a physical webcam shield and an optional TPM 2.0 chip to keep attackers away from private data. There’s even an integrated Kensington Lock slot, making them quick and easy to secure.

ASUS ExpertBook B3 Detachable

Designed for education and built for business, ASUS ExpertBook B3 Detachable (B3000) is the perfect 2-in-1 portable companion — with a long battery life for uninterrupted remote learning or working. It’s also the first device powered by the Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 compute platform, with a garaged stylus and pre-installed with the Windows 11 operating system.

B3 Detachable comes with the option of ExpertStand, a robust, easy-connect cover, and ExpertBoard, a complementary keyboard with a comfortable 1.5 mm key travel. Detachable, magnetic and stain-repellent, the ExpertStand cover doubles as a dual-orientation prop, while ExpertBoard connects easily for instant, efficient input — meaning B3 Detachable is as versatile as it is mobile. It can be used as a tablet or laptop; or stand it vertically or horizontally for viewing files or entertainment, making it ideal for online classes, study, work meetings, movies and more.

An optional garaged stylus is also included with B3 Detachable, making it easy to get every detail just right when drawing, taking notes or marking documents. The built-in holder keeps the pen close at hand and minimizes the chance of it being misplaced, and a 15-second charge provides enough power for 45 minutes of use.

ASUS ExpertCenter D7 series

The ASUS ExpertCenter series offers a diverse range of configurations and price points for businesses of all sizes, from small- and medium-sized offices to large enterprises. The specific models on display at CES 2022 are ExpertCenter D700SD (SFF), D700MD (mini tower) and D700TD (tower), which feature the latest 12th Gen, up to Intel Core i9 processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 discrete graphics and 128 GB of DDR4 3200 MHz RAM.

With a spread of smart designs and case sizes that range from SFF to mini and full tower, ExpertCenter desktop PCs are ready to fit into almost any environment or scenario — from remote working and content creation to manufacturing and retail settings. ExpertCenter D7 desktops have tool-free design features that simplify maintenance, removing the need for screwdrivers or specialist equipment. They’re also designed for expansion, enabling them to evolve to meet the needs of growing businesses.

ExpertCenter desktops feature sophisticated security features to keep businesses safe. The optional ASUS Control Center is a centralized IT-management suite that’s capable of remote management, hardware and software monitoring, and task scheduling via a user-friendly web-based interface — allowing system administrators to conveniently manage company assets through a single portal. They also benefit from ASUS Business Manager, which includes USB Blocker data-movement controls, system back-track to restore the system to its optimal status, and an encrypted virtual partition to store important data. TPM 2.0 security is also available as an option.

Of course, ExpertCenter desktops are solidly built and tested to the most demanding industry requirements, including MIL-STD-810H US military standards and stringent ASUS in-house testing — so the inevitable minor shocks and everyday workplace accidents won’t jeopardize precious business data.

ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5

With a fresh new look, the 16-inch ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 (CX5601) is a next-level convertible laptop.

Its three-sided NanoEdge display has a 16:10 aspect ratio and fits more screen into the chassis for brilliant, seamless and expansive visuals, with increased vertical space compared with traditional 16:9 panels. For maximal screen area and immersive viewing, the screen-to-body ratio is 87%, helping creators or students to stay focused and inspired.

ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 also offers the latest 12th Gen Intel processor and dual-band WiFi 6E (802.11ax) that includes a new 6 GHz band for strong, stable signals and superfast speeds, allowing users to load online content in the blink of an eye. In addition, the Intel vPro platform and Chrome Enterprise or Education Upgrade can be added on, enabling IT administrators to optimize cloud-first workflows and enterprise security or to tailor user experiences for teachers and students.

Four high-quality, built-in speakers employ extra-large resonant chambers to generate high-fidelity audio that’s on par with much larger laptops. This caliber of audio provides better surround-sound effects, helping to fully immerse the listener in music, movies and more.

The new ASUS Chromebook Flip CX5 also features an FHD webcam to provide higher-quality visuals when taking pictures or videoconferencing. When not in use, the webcam can be easily hidden behind a retractable physical cover, for instant privacy.
