ASUS ROG introduces new Falchion Ace HFX gaming keyboard with enhanced features

ASUS ROG launches the Falchion Ace HFX, a 65% gaming keyboard with rapid trigger technology, magnetic switches, and an 8000Hz polling rate, priced at S$309.

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced the launch of its latest gaming keyboard, the Falchion Ace HFX, which will be available in from early October 2024. This 65% analogue wired keyboard is designed for gamers who seek top-level speed, precision, and customisation. With advanced features like ROG HFX Magnetic Switches, an 8000Hz polling rate, and Rapid Trigger technology, the Falchion Ace HFX raises the bar for gaming keyboards.

Its compact makes it an excellent choice for gamers who need functionality and space-saving solutions. Measuring only 315mm in length, it offers the same capabilities as a full-sized keyboard, while taking up much less desk space. This makes it ideal for streamlined setups without compromising on features.

ROG HFX Magnetic Switches for precision

One of the key features of the ROG Falchion Ace HFX is its pre-lubed ROG HFX Magnetic Switches. These switches are designed to deliver high precision and a solid feel when typing. Built to last for 100 million key presses, they are made with high-quality POM plastic for the stem and bottom housing and PC plastic for the top housing, ensuring durability even during intense gaming sessions.

The switches are also designed with a walled stem to enhance stability and keep dust out. What sets them apart is the ability to customise the actuation point. Users can adjust the range from 0.1mm to 4.0mm, tailoring the keyboard to their personal gaming and typing preferences.

These switches give gamers fingertip control, as adjustments can be made through the rear-mounted multifunction button, touch panel, or via the Armoury Crate or Armoury Crate Gear software.

Rapid Trigger and Speed Tap modes

The ROG HFX Magnetic Switches are further enhanced with Rapid Trigger technology, which allows the switch to reset instantly as it moves upward. This is crucial for gamers as it provides quicker and smoother movement during gameplay, enabling them to strafe more efficiently.

For players of fast-paced FPS games, the Speed Tap mode is a game-changer. When two opposing directional keys are pressed, Speed Tap prioritises the last input, automatically releasing the previous key. This eliminates any time gap for counter-strafing, ensuring immediate and precise directional changes, giving players a competitive edge.

Ultra-fast 8000Hz polling rate

To maximise responsiveness, the ROG Falchion Ace HFX is equipped with an 8000Hz polling rate, which refreshes input data eight times faster than standard gaming keyboards. This results in an extremely low input lag of just 0.125 milliseconds, offering a significant advantage in games where every millisecond counts.

This feature makes the Falchion Ace HFX perfect for gamers who need rapid response times to outmanoeuvre opponents and gain a competitive edge in fast-paced situations.

Enhanced comfort and versatile design

Along with its performance features, the ROG Falchion Ace HFX is engineered for comfort. The keyboard includes five dampening layers—two PORON and three silicone—that work together to reduce vibrations and absorb noise, ensuring a cushioned and quiet typing experience.

The keyboard is also designed for versatility, featuring dual USB-C ports that allow easy switching between two PCs. It has a protective cover that doubles as a tray mount for added convenience, especially for gamers needing portability. The keyboard also includes two pairs of adjustable feet, providing three different tilt angles to match each user’s preferred typing position. The ASUS ROG Falchion Ace HFX will be priced at S$309.
