ASUS launches new motherboards for Intel Core Ultra processors

ASUS launches new Z890 motherboards, built for Intel Core Ultra processors, featuring AI optimisation, DDR5 support, and ultrafast connectivity.

ASUS has unveiled its latest range of Z890 motherboards, including models from the ROG Maximus, ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, Prime, and ProArt series. These motherboards are designed to support Intel’s Core Ultra processors (Series 2) and offer advanced AI features, enhanced performance, and ultrafast connectivity for gamers, creators, and professionals alike.

With new technologies such as ASUS AI Advisor, AI Overclocking, AI Cooling II, and AI Networking II, these motherboards promise to deliver high performance with intelligent optimisations. They are also equipped with DDR5 memory capabilities and Intel’s latest LGA 1851 socket, ensuring they are ready for next-generation computing.

Designed for Intel Core Ultra processors

The Intel Core Ultra processors (Series 2), built for the LGA 1851 socket, offer up to 24 cores, combining powerful Performance-cores (P-cores) and Efficient-cores (E-cores). This innovative supports high clock speeds and multitasking performance, making the new processors a perfect match for ASUS’s Z890 motherboards.

These processors also feature an integrated neural processing unit (NPU) for handling AI tasks efficiently. ASUS’s NPU Boost, a new BIOS feature available on the Z890 series, further enhances AI performance by overclocking the NPU, providing up to a 24% increase in speed. Additionally, the processors bring integrated Xe LPG graphics for smoother visuals and support DisplayPort 2.1 and HDMI 2.1 (FRL) for high-resolution displays.

ASUS has packed its Z890 motherboards with connectivity options, offering plenty of USB ports, PCIe 5.0 lanes, and support for M.2 slots, all of which can be fully utilised with the Intel Core Ultra processors. The inclusion of Thunderbolt 5 ensures even faster data transfers, supporting up to three 8K displays at 60Hz.

Enhanced AI and networking features

ASUS Z890 motherboards are ready for AI-driven PCs, providing advanced features to boost performance and improve the user experience. AI Overclocking, available on select models, enables users to optimise their CPU’s performance with a single click. This intelligent system monitors your CPU cooler and adjusts settings to ensure peak performance. Similarly, AI Cooling II helps regulate fan speeds to maintain optimal airflow and reduce noise during low workloads.

In terms of connectivity, AI Networking II improves network settings for seamless gaming, content creation, and media sharing. It can automatically detect congested Wi-Fi channels and switch to a clearer frequency for better performance.

For creators working with AI-powered applications or large graphics tasks, the ASUS ProArt Z890-Creator stands out. It offers PCIe 5.0 x16 slots in an x8/x8 configuration, allowing for multiple GPUs to be used simultaneously. This makes it ideal for those handling AI tasks, creative workflows, or intensive gaming environments.

DDR5 memory and DIY-friendly features

ASUS’s Z890 motherboards are built to unlock the potential of DDR5 memory. Using NitroPath DRAM Technology and DIMM Fit, these motherboards ensure that DDR5 memory kits run smoothly at high speeds. Advanced features like AEMP III provide easy memory optimisation, even for high-performance kits operating at DDR5-8000 or higher.

Additionally, ASUS has introduced user-friendly features to make PC building easier. For instance, the Q-Design includes tools like the PCIe Slot Q-Release Slim and M.2 Q-Latch, simplifying the process of installing or removing components without needing extra tools. The BIOS has also been redesigned to be more intuitive, with a 1920×1080 resolution and visual guides to help new users navigate.

In summary, the new ASUS Z890 motherboard lineup, equipped with advanced AI features, ultrafast connectivity, and support for Intel Core Ultra processors, is designed to deliver top-tier performance for gaming, content creation, and AI-based tasks. With its innovative features and design, ASUS continues to set the standard for high-performance computing.
