ASUS IoT unveils new edge AI computers with 14th Gen Intel Core support

ASUS IoT introduces advanced edge AI computers with 14th Gen Intel Core support, boosting AI computing capabilities for various applications at the edge.

ASUS IoT, a leader in global AIoT solutions, unveiled substantial updates to its PE series of edge AI computers. The newly enhanced models, including PE8000G, PE6000G, PE4000G, PE5101D, and PE5100D, now feature the latest 14th Gen Intel Core i9 processors and can support two graphics cards up to 450 watts each. This update marks a significant leap in AI computing capabilities at the edge.

Boosted processing capabilities for diverse environments

These upgrades are centred around the 14th Gen Intel Core i9 processors, which deliver up to 65 watts of power, offering a balanced mix of performance and energy efficiency suited for applications in smart factories, machine automation, transportation, and smart cities. The processors are designed with a hybrid architecture that includes up to 24—eight Performance cores and 16 Efficiency cores—and up to 32 threads, enhancing their capacity for multitasking in demanding settings.

The enhanced PE series also supports dual DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM memory modules, allowing for up to 64 GB of ultrafast memory. This setup improves data transfer speeds by up to 50% and enhances power efficiency by about 8%. With ECC technology, these systems ensure high reliability for edge computing scenarios.

Optimised for high-performance and challenging conditions

The flagship model, PE8000G, supports up to two PCIe x16 450 W GPU cards, enabling efficient high-throughput computing and seamless real-time AI inferencing. This model is particularly well-suited for challenging environments such as autonomous driving and roadside units. The PE6000G, which supports a single 450 W GPU, is tailored for intelligent video analytics and high-throughput inference tasks, making it ideal for last-mile delivery solutions.

For tasks that require less intensive but equally critical capabilities, the PE4000G, which supports a 200 W GPU, is perfect for factory automation and law enforcement applications. The PE5101D and PE5100D models are designed for intelligent transportation systems and can also be used in retail kiosks, ATMs, and vending machines. These rugged edge computers feature dual 2.5-inch hot-swappable HDD trays and support RAID 0/1, facilitating easy maintenance and expansion.

ASUS IoT continues to pioneer the design of edge AI computers, offering robust, high-performance solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of various deployment scenarios. This underlines its dedication to innovation and quality in the AIoT sector.
