ASUS introduces the VivoWatch 6: A new benchmark in smart health watches

ASUS launches VivoWatch 6, a smartwatch with fingertip-based blood pressure measurement, 14-day battery life, and advanced health tracking features.

ASUS has unveiled its latest wearable device, the VivoWatch 6, a flagship smartwatch designed to revolutionise health management. With its innovative features, including fingertip-based blood pressure and electrocardiogram (ECG) measurement, the VivoWatch 6 promises to set a new benchmark for smart health watches.

The watch comes with a 1.39-inch AMOLED Gorilla Glass touchscreen that delivers up to 350 nits of brightness. It includes ASUS’s exclusive health management tools, such as the ASUS Blood Pressure and ASUS ECG apps, along with advanced features like body composition analysis, sleep tracking, and a Relaxation Index. Designed for all-day wear, the VivoWatch 6 weighs just 60 grams, making it comfortable and lightweight.

One standout feature of the watch is its impressive battery life, lasting up to 14 days in power-saving mode, which makes it ideal for extended use. The dual-frequency GPS ensures accurate location tracking, adding to the watch’s functionality for fitness enthusiasts and health-conscious users alike.

According to Sharon Pan, Senior Director of Smart Health Product Planning at ASUS, “Leveraging cutting-edge innovations and years of expertise, ASUS VivoWatch 6 is designed to help users keep track of their long-term health goals easily, allowing them to monitor vital health stats anytime, anywhere to truly achieve preventive healthcare.”

Health management at your fingertips

The ASUS VivoWatch 6 is equipped with two sets of medical-grade ECG and PPG sensors, allowing users to measure their health vitals with just a touch of their fingertips. Using the sensors on the watch face, users can track key metrics like body fat, skeletal muscle percentages, water content, and basal metabolic rate. The body composition analysis, powered by the bioelectrical impedance (BIA) sensor, adds a level of insight typically found in professional medical devices.

In addition to tracking physical health, the VivoWatch 6 monitors short-term stress through heart rate variability (HRV) and presents the data in a Relaxation Index. This tool helps users assess the balance of their autonomic nervous system, giving them insight into their mental and emotional health. The Body Harmony Analysis feature goes further, summarising daily emotional states over the past week in a simple seven-grid chart.

These features enable users to take a holistic approach to their health, managing both physical and emotional wellbeing.

ASUS HealthConnect app for real-time insights

Accompanying the VivoWatch 6 is the ASUS HealthConnect app, which provides a user-friendly interface that brings all health statistics together in one place. The app offers a quick overview of tracked data, making it easy for users to monitor their progress over time. Additionally, it includes the Care Track service, which is cloud-based and allows real-time sharing of the wearer’s location and health status with family members. This feature is especially beneficial for caregivers who want to monitor the health and of elderly relatives remotely.

Pricing and availability

ASUS has announced that the VivoWatch 6 will be available in Singapore starting in mid-September 2024, priced at S$499.
