Apple’s App Stores face app download issues

Users worldwide are having trouble downloading new apps from Apple’s App Store, though updates to existing apps are still working normally.

Users across the iPhone, iPad, and Mac face difficulties when downloading new apps from Apple’s App Store. As soon as users tap the “Get” button, the download process starts but quickly stops, and the button reverts to “Get” without installing the desired app.

Problems affecting users globally

Reports of this issue are spreading on social media, with many users, both in the US and Europe, confirming the problem. They have been unable to install new apps for several hours now. This problem was first noted around 11 AM ET, according to DownDetector’s App Store outage chart, which monitors real-time online service issues.

Existing apps can still be updated

Interestingly, while new app downloads are causing problems, users can still update apps installed on their devices. The App Store isn’t completely down—only new app installations fail. Despite this, many users are frustrated, particularly those who need to download important apps for work or personal use.

No official update from Apple

At the time of writing, Apple’s status page still indicates that all services, including the App Store, are functioning as usual, with no mention of ongoing issues. This lack of communication from Apple has left many users confused, as they are unsure when the issue might be resolved.

For now, those affected will have to wait for further updates or for the issue to be fixed. Apple has not acknowledged the problem publicly, but given the growing number of users affected, a response is expected soon.
