Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 16, the Watch Series 10, and new AirPods in September event

Appleโ€™s September 10 event could unveil the iPhone 16, Apple Watch Series 10, and new AirPods, which will have larger screens, new features, and more.

According to a report by Bloombergโ€™s Mark Gurman, Apple is gearing up for a major launch event on September 10. At this event, the iPhone 16 lineup, the Apple Watch Series 10, and two new versions of AirPods could be introduced. This highly anticipated event could set the stage for these new devices to be available for purchase as soon as September 20.

iPhone 16: What’s new?

The iPhone 16 series is expected to follow closely in the footsteps of last yearโ€™s models, but with some key enhancements. The most noticeable change is likely to be the size of the screens on the Pro models. If the rumours are accurate, the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch display, up from 6.1 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max might boast a 6.9-inch screen, an increase from the current 6.7 inches. In addition to these larger displays, Apple may also introduce a dedicated camera button, making capturing those perfect moments easier.

While the overall design may remain similar to last yearโ€™s models, you can expect some exciting new features with the introduction of iOS 18.1, which is said to include Apple Intelligence features currently in testing. These updates could bring more intuitive and powerful functionalities to your device, enhancing your experience in ways that were previously not possible.

However, if youโ€™re hoping for a significant hardware overhaul, you might need to wait until next year. Apple could be holding off on major changes until the potential launch of an โ€œiPhone 17 Slim,โ€ which might bring even more groundbreaking updates to the iPhone lineup.

Are new MacBook Pro laptops on the horizon?

In addition to the new iPhones, there is speculation about new MacBook Pro laptops featuring the latest fourth-generation Apple Silicon chips. Gurmanโ€™s report highlights that developer logs show several Macs currently in testing with different versions of the M4 chip. Three of these configurations are expected to pair the same 10-core CPU seen in the latest iPad Pro with a 10-core GPU, while a fourth model may include an 8-core CPU balanced between high performance and efficiency.

These new laptops could offer either 16GB or 32GB of memory, which may signal the end of the 8GB RAM models if Apple prioritises devices capable of handling local AI models. Although Apple typically unveils its new MacBook Pro models separately from iPhones, these laptops could debut later this year.

Apple Watch Series 10 and AirPods: What to expect

The Apple Watch Series 10 is also expected to see some exciting changes. Reports suggest the new models will be thinner but feature larger screens, offering a more streamlined and user-friendly experience. This could make the Series 10 a must-have for anyone looking to upgrade their smartwatch.

Apple might be replacing the current 2nd and 3rd generation AirPods with two entirely new sets. Gurman previously reported that these new AirPods could blend the design elements of the 3rd generation AirPods and the AirPods Pro. More notably, the upgraded mid-tier AirPods are expected to include active noise cancellation, a feature exclusive to the Pro models until now.

With all these potential updates, September could be an exciting month for Apple enthusiasts. Whether youโ€™re in the market for a new iPhone, a more powerful MacBook Pro, or simply looking to upgrade your AirPods or Apple Watch, this upcoming event could have something for everyone.
