Agora launches conversational AI SDK with OpenAI integration

Agora launches its Conversational AI SDK, integrated with OpenAI’s real-time API, enabling developers to create seamless voice-driven AI experiences across apps.

Agora, a leading provider of real-time engagement APIs, has announced the release of its groundbreaking Conversational AI SDK. This new development, integrated with OpenAI’s real-time API, allows developers to create voice-driven AI experiences within apps, offering a more natural and seamless way for users to interact with artificial intelligence.

Tony Zhao, CEO and Co-founder of Agora, said, “Real-time conversational AI is the next step in helping consumers and organisations across the world realise the benefits of this seismic and revolutionary technology. With OpenAI, our Conversational AI SDK will allow developers everywhere to increase interactivity in their apps by implementing natural voice interaction with the conversational intelligence of OpenAI, thanks to Agora’s robust real-time audio streaming capabilities.”

Enhanced AI voice experiences for multiple use cases

Agora’s Conversational AI SDK taps into the company’s powerful network, which handles over 60 billion minutes of real-time interaction per month in more than 200 countries and regions. By using Agora’s intelligent routing and ultra-low latency real-time network, developers can create human-like voice interactions that connect directly with OpenAI’s models through its real-time API.

The SDK also incorporates advanced features like AI echo cancellation and background noise suppression, ensuring reliable and clear voice interactions in any environment. Developers will now be able to offer high-quality, seamless voice-driven AI solutions in various sectors such as 24/7 customer support, concierge services, health and wellness, education, gaming, and smart home devices.

Samuel Lim, CEO and Founder of Grepp, a customer of Agora, said, “By integrating lifelike, interactive AI learning assistants into our platform, we can enhance personalised skill assessments, improve the learning experience for developers, and optimise online testing. This new capability creates fresh opportunities to expand our skill assessment and educational services globally.”

Developers gain flexibility and ease of use

One of the key advantages of Agora’s Conversational AI SDK is its versatility, allowing developers to quickly integrate real-time AI voice agents into a wide range of applications. Whether it’s for customer service, healthcare, education, or gaming, the SDK enables developers to provide users with more natural voice interactions, powered by the conversational capabilities of OpenAI’s GPT models.

Yun Zhang, CEO and Co-founder of Wyze, another Agora customer, said, “Agora’s Conversational AI SDK will make it easy for us to integrate real-time voice interaction with AI into our IoT products. Agora’s network is a game-changer, with the ultra-low latency response time necessary for truly natural voice interaction with AI-powered smart devices.”

Agora’s new SDK is expected to drive innovation in AI-powered apps and services. By bringing together Agora’s real-time engagement network with OpenAI’s advanced AI models, developers will have the tools to build new experiences that were previously unimaginable.

Tony Zhao concluded, “The integration with OpenAI will unleash a wave of creativity and utility in the AI space unlike anything we have seen to date. Whether it’s wellness coaching in healthcare, a 24/7 customer support agent, or a language tutoring app, our Conversational AI SDK and OpenAI’s real-time API will allow developers to create apps that will transform how users leverage AI in their daily lives.”
