Nintendo recently hosted its Indie World showcase, an event lasting about 20 minutes that spotlighted a variety of upcoming indie games. Despite the absence of updates on the much-anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong, the was filled with exciting announcements, including several games set to launch immediately.

Adventures and quirky quests await

One of the standout titles revealed was “Little Kitty, Big City,” where players control a curious cat exploring urban landscapes, engaging in typical feline antics like causing mischief and assisting other animals. This charming, lighthearted game is set for release on May 9.

“Yars Rising” marks a nostalgic return to Atari’s beloved universe, offering a fresh take on the exploration-led action-adventure genre. Developed by WayForward, this game allows players to dive into vibrant environments as they uncover corporate secrets. Look out for its release later this year.

Another intriguing title is “Refind Self: The Personality Test Game,” an adventure game centred around an android discovering its identity post-creator. The game promises a deep dive into self-discovery with 23 personality types to uncover, launching this summer on Switch and currently available on Steam and mobile stores.

“Sticky Business” is a cosy simulation game where players run a sticker shop, designing custom stickers and interacting with customers. This game, along with its “Plan With Me” DLC, launched today.

For those who enjoy action, “Antonblast” offers a fast-paced platforming experience with a cartoonish flair. Players reclaim from the devil using a variety of explosive tactics. A demo is available now, with a full release scheduled for November 12.

“Valley Peaks” introduces players to a unique first-person adventure as an anthropomorphic frog technician. The game involves climbing and gliding around a lo-fi world, setting up radio towers, and fulfilling other quirky requests. It’s set to launch this year, with a demo currently available on Steam.

“Lorelei and the Laser Eyes” invites players to a surreal adventure in a mysterious Central European hotel. This puzzle-driven narrative will challenge players to solve complex mysteries upon its release on May 16 on Switch and Steam.

“Europa” features an android exploring Jupiter’s moon in a beautifully-rendered 3D platformer. This game, reminiscent of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” is set to launch later this year, with a demo available today.

Drawing inspiration from the popular game Hades, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate” offers a roguelike adventure that’s already making waves on mobile platforms. In this game, players guide the four ninja turtles through famous settings, confronting renowned villains while advancing through levels and gathering power-ups. “TMNT Splintered Fate” supports seamless online multiplayer, allowing up to four players to join or leave the game as they wish. Get ready for its launch on the Nintendo Switch this July.

The presentation wrapped up with a rapid-fire sizzle reel showcasing upcoming games such as the action-platformer “BZZZT,” the vibrant 3D platformer “Schim,” the pixel Metroidvania “Animal Well,” the casual detective game “Duck Detective: The Secret Salami,” and “Another Crab’s Treasure,” a crustacean-themed Soulslike game launching on April 25, including on GamePass.

The Indie World showcase once again highlighted Nintendo’s commitment to diverse and innovative indie gaming experiences, promising an exciting year ahead for gamers.
